At first I always believed that Trump was not religious and only used religion as a Slopulist tool to get support from the zealots who inhabit the Bible-belt and his Israel support was clearly just AIPAC and the Oil Lobby motivating him, however I wonder if there is something deeper, the Iran thing has actually hurt the markets and Trump seems to be operating out outside of capital for once so I wonder if he is more religious than I thought or if he is a senile philosemite who spent so much time around rich jewish people in New York that he think that Jews are magic money people, So then the more Satanyahu strokes Trump's ego the more he will do whatever he says.

I think Trump is actually kind of being dragged into the war against his will, like he can't avoid it because his handlers and pretty much everyone he depends on have made it clear he's got to do it.

So initially he went in just confident that it would be a cakewalk and it would make him look good and powerful and sucessful.
That was his cope for putting his ass on the line.

But that didn't work. And now the entire world is pinning this on him.

But he again doesn't have the have the independence to back down, and backing down is not something Trump usually does, so he's again stuck in this unconfortable situation.

So his next cope was that actually doing all these things he was forced to do was actually a big act of bravery, challenging all the odds and that bunch of poeple saying that what he was doing was wrong and stupid and dangerous and ultimately reckless and pointless.
And that he's this great historical figure who's charting his own path and leaving all these losers who doubt him behind.

And then somebody helped him put a religious lens to it, which is good for him in the sense that it helps him understand israels understanding of the situation and makes the cope less bitter and more pallatable,
but it's also good for him in the sense that it's good optics in selling his actions to his base.
Religious War has long been a driver of social cohesion,
although in America it's usually frowned upon (althoght still totally real and important)
