Wall Street regulators jointly propose to trim Biden-era private fund reporting rules
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and Commodity Futures Trading Commission on Monday jointly proposed ​reforms to Biden-era regulations on enhanced disclosures by the $26 trillion private fund industry, the ‌agencies announced. The SEC said the changes, if adopted, would reduce burdens on the private funds and investment advisers while still requiring the collection of "necessary and appropriate" information.

This May Day, the Working Class Must Defeat the Ruling Class’s Wars
With less than a month until May Day, workers around the world are preparing to mark International Workers’ Day amid a growing economic crisis and increasing militarism. Last year witnessed one of the largest May 1 mobilizations in the United States in years, showcasing a working class capable of standing up to Trump. Flying South for the War: The Rise of Drone Warfare in Latin America
The bomb begins falling from the left side of the screen as soon as the video starts. The viewer has the perspective of the drone as it looks down at a white pickup truck with a full bed; men standing on the driver’s side of the vehicle appear to be talking, while the bombs gets smaller and smaller before impacting the bed of the truck and detonating. The men on the driver’s side flee as a man in the front passenger seat exits the vehicle and joins his comrades in flight. This is a short video released by the Mexican drug cartel Cárteles Unidos, showing an attack on the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG). This video, published by the pseudonymous conflict researcher War Noir in August of 2025, provides a glimpse into the emerging, but increasingly complex world of drone use by drug cartels. Globally, drones have begun emerging in conflict zones around the world, to the point where they are being used, with varying degrees of effect, in every major and most minor, armed conflicts. This includes the use of drones by drug cartels and other transnational criminal organizations (TCOs) across Latin America. While drug cartels and other TCOs have been using drones in various capacities for several years now, innovations in drone technology and tactics have begun to filter out of the warzone in Ukraine and subsequently appearing in Latin America.

Revolution has often followed war in history. In ordinary times the working masses toil from day to day, docilely performing their slave labor, bowing to the great force of habit. Neither overseers, nor police, neither jail-keepers nor executioners could hold the masses in subjection were it not for this habit which does faithful service to capitalism. The war which tortures and destroys the masses is dangerous to the rulers as well – precisely be-cause with a single blow it tears the people from their habitual condition, awakens with its thunder the most backward and dark elements, and compels them to take stock of themselves, and to look around.
War and Revolution: Impelling millions of toilers into the flames, the rulers are obliged to resort to promises and lies in place of habit. The bourgeoisie paints up its war with all those traits which are dear to the magnanimous soul of the masses: the war is for “Liberty”, for “Justice”, for a “Better Life”! Stirring the masses to their nethermost depths, the war invariably ends by duping them: it brings them nothing except new wounds and chains. For this reason the tense condition of the duped masses produced by the war often leads to an explosion against the rulers; war gives birth to revolution. This happened twelve years ago during the Russo-Japanese war: it immediately aggravated the dissatisfaction of the people and led to the revolution of 1905. This happened in France 46 years ago. The Franco-Prussian war of 1870–1871 led to the uprising of the workers and the creation of the Paris Commune.
