>>2788413i'm actually so fucking glad someone brought this up. I know some you chuds might call me a fed or some throw some other random buzzwords at me with the intent of disregarding everything I say, but imma say it anyways. modern day china is not to be trusted. ever since the opening up of deng they have been on a path of slowly degenerating to low after low. don't get me wrong some of those economic reforms did help them deal with a lot of issues, but the biggest point of order for me has has been the outright reactionaryism that I'm seeing from recent leaders (particularly xi). the extreme han Chinese nationalism, social conservatism, and of course, the lack of solidarity with international socialist or even humanitarian causes. (like making dumb ass social media posts about vaguely criticizing israel while still doing trade with them). forget international socialist solidarity, they wont even care about socialism in their own country anymore. its very clear that the biggest, most important theme within the Chinese political sphere is the nationalistic strive for geopolitical dominance, not for the benefit of the socialist cause in the world (or even in their own country), but just for the benefit of the Chinese nation. I understand that this was about military, but the truth is I'm not too sure about China as a whole. I would defend them with my life against a lib, but I can no longer deny the degeneration of their socialist values into this purely nationalistic drive to be the next hegemon. it seems that, for them, geopolitical power is no longer a means to the end of spreading socialism (as it was for the ussr), but rather the triumph of conquest is an end itself.
