i meant to post a may day thread before I went to bed but forgot
HAPPY MAY DAY

What's your excuse for not marching today?

The marches in my shithole is mostly organized by reformist hilterite party who waves national flags, I rather kill myself than tacitly support them.

>>2798798
sounds like you are letting the reformist hitlerites monopolize may day celebrations

>>2798803
Sounds like great man theory

>>2798798
Not celebrating this eurocentric anglo-coded holiday. 'Internationalism' does not exist in practice and may day does nothing to respect the essential traditions of my national proletariat. I only acknowledge authentic national holidays like Labor Day and Veterans Day (support the troops!)

happy may day !!

Happy may day everyone!

if marches changed nothing, they would make them illegal. And sometimes they do.

>>2799255
Marches in fact do change nothing, a march is a polite request to the ruling class and nothing else

>>2798798
You should march, you sound like a fatass who needs the exercise

There is literally no proletariat here to march, this entire country is lumpen

marching to the liquor store

Happy Mayday leftyanons.

>>2799259
Nah I rather break their legs than march with them, lapdogs of imperialists.

>>2799258
Even national armies do marches just as a show of force, it's not game breakingly effective but it's important to remind the opponent to be aware of your strength as a united force once in a while

>>2798775
I don't think the US-Israeli imperialists believe the meek shall inherit the Earth

>>2799303
No but the cucked workers under them do

>no union songs compilation
>you're not currently outside marching

>>2798798
Did, despite our union leadershit being told not to promote it. Militant gommies unions held a march so the succdem ones were told by government not to join in.

Couldn't be me spent the evening singing union songs in an old irish working men's club. Was good craic.

Done in Neo-Traditional English style.

Spent the day working, granted I don’t think May Day is much of a cultural thing in the U.S. outside of parts of the east coast

Apparently Fox News is seething about it, so they might make it a holiday here incidentally

By some bizarre coincidence I happened to be in Illinois during May Day, so I made the pilgrimage to Waldheim / Forest Home cemetery to see the Haymarket martyrs monument.

When I got there I saw this enormous line of cars around the cemetery with lots of police vehicles directing traffic. At first I thought that May Day here was way, way more popular than I expected it to be, but looking at the types of cars in line and the people in them, combined with the sheer quantity of cops, shifted the vibe towards some sort of mob funeral during a gang war. I've looked online after the fact and I still have no idea what the hell was going on. I thought that my chances of seeing the monument were dashed, but I drove around to the other side of the cemetery and the monument was in plain sight and easy to walk to, wew.

Anyway, the visit was kinda quiet, but enjoyable. The statue itself is tastefully done, and right next to it are the graves of some of America's most famous Communists and anarchists. That's Communist with a capital C; the plot to the left of the monument holds the remains of most of the CPUSA's notable leaders, but no Socialists whatsoever. I guess they were too afraid to be associated with anarchists. The anarchist plot is to the right of the monument and holds the remains of basically every US-based anarchist I know as a non-anarchist except I think Alexander Berkman. I learned from talking with a comrade on site that there was apparently a big dispute over which side would inter Lucy Parsons' remains, because she started her political life as an anarchist and died as a Communist; her grave ended up in the anarchist plot. One really nice thing was that there were signs set up at leftist gravesites giving mini-bios of who these people were.

There were less than two dozen comrades there, mostly anarchists. I don't meet them often IRL so there were some friendly and interesting conversations to be had. There was also a guy there who was a real character, dressed in a motorcycle jacket with communist pins and smoking a Cuban cigar. He was very knowledgeable and fun to talk to until he started cracking Kronstadt jokes within earshot of the anarchists.
