I don't like taking sides in a conflict I lack some knowledge of but…….How is Pakistan not in the right when it comes to Kashmir?
the conflict basically started when Kashmiris, Ruled by a deeply reactionary and horrendously oppressive minority hindu monarch, Rose up because of their appalling poverty and excessive taxation. One of the most exploited people in India.
Then Pakistan assissted the popular uprising and went to war on it's behalf, The monarch agreed to join India just to suppress the rebels via the Indian army which resulted in the mass-slaughter of the Muslim Kashmiris in the southern region of Jammu .
Most Kashmiris still hate Indian rule and today it's the most militarized region of earth.
Shouldn't it leftist circles be more concerned with this issue?
India and Pakistan are both colonial institutions and should be merged into one SSR
And Pakistan is totally not a deeply reactionary and oppressive country today and treats its minorities perfectly well right?
1) Kashmir is 35% Hindu (the original indigenous inhabitants of India)
2) Those Hindus would fight a civil war rather than join Pakistan and suffer oppression in Pakistan.
3) Kashmiris Muslims dont bother to fight for seperation, as evidenced by severe decline in protests and terrorism in the region. Remember they should fight not just the Indian government but also half of the Kashmiri population who don't want to join Pakistan.
4) Only Pakistan uses this issue as a geopolitical wedge. No other country, not even China, bothers to do anything about this issue as antagonizing India to that extent is not their goal.
