Russia's industrial capacity was concentrated in the Western regions of European Russia, Germany had already captured a substantial amount of it when the Bolsheviks overthrew the Republic. Brest-Litovsk, for example, saw the Germans take basically what they would have controlled well before the Central Powers collapsed anyway and it saw Russia lose over half of its industrial capacity. they were gaining ground quickly and it's not a sure thing by any means that Russia would have survived to November of 1918 had the Bolsheviks not ended the war. The consequences of continuing the war were far too severe to justify sticking around to the end.
