We've got open source and HUMINT suggesting that DPRK linked shell companies registered in Hong Kong and Macau have been moving small sums through Chinese philanthropic fronts. One transaction we tracked years ago roughly $30,000 funneled to a legal defense fund for Greek anarchists arrested after a series of brazen armed bank robberies. The money came from a "cultural exchange" NGO with ties to a DPRK trading company previously sanctioned by OFAC.

Why Greece? Because Greek anarchists don't see themselves as living in a free country. They see Greece as a vassal of the US and Western Europe. To them, American imperialism is the historic enemy. North Korea's model isn't complicated. Crime funds the military and anti-West revolutions. Nothing else. They don't build infrastructure. They don't feed their people. They move meth, counterfeit dollars, and weapons tech, and they pump the proceeds into anyone willing to light a fire under the US and its allies. China doesn't do this. Beijing plays the long game of capitalist competition for hegemony. Pyongyang still believes in the pipe dream of some international revolution destryoing the free market. The North Korean regime has a long history of this its embedded in their function.

We've compiled global evidence from Lebanon to Greece to inner-city Baltimore that North Korea has become the Gaddafi of Asia, with bigger missiles so twice as dangerous.
