but to answer your question… who fucking cares. working class people in marx's time were drunk 24/7 because beer was safer to drink than the untreated poopoo water, they also smoked a lot and ate meats of dubious origin… eating stuff that's bad for you might be "decadence" in situations where you overeat because you make above subsistence or you eat bad even though you have healthier options… that's it. otherwise it's the result of being stuck in a food desert. you're familiar with that idea right? nothing around for 10 miles but a shitty dollar store full of beef jerky, honey buns, and cheetos? produce hard to come by? some people live like that.
