You have probably heard of the serious medical issues that afflicted me by the genocidal design of my captors stemming from 24 consecutive years in solitary confinement, malnutrition, constant harassment by the pigs, no recreation or exercise, social isolation, censorship of my revolutionary writings, and a pattern of systemic genocidal torture and brutal repression designed to break my will and my spirit of resistance. I had a stroke in November 2025, at the McConnell Unit in Beeville. Before then, I had been struggling to get medical attention for a series of maladies I had developed as my physical and mental health began deteriorating, namely, bladder infections, neuropathy, B 12 vitamin deficiency, among other disabilities, all ignored by the prison.
On these issues. I have been going back and forth to the main Galveston prison hospital, to the Carole Young Medical facility for surgery and a series of tests and so forth. I am now at the Estelle medical unit (E2) in Huntsville, Texas awaiting to, again, be transferred to Galveston for the testing ordered since December 2025, delayed time and again, under a policy that when the prison is on “routine lockdown” for cellblock searches for contraband, all prior medical appointments are cancelled. For example, I had a scheduled test in Galveston for May 12 but on May 11 the unit went on lockdown, and all doctor’s appointments are cancelled. My Xinachtli Freedom Campaign (XFC) in Houston has done, and continues to do, an excellent job in reaching out to others, building membership, staying in touch, holding forums, workshops, producing outreach materials such as T-shirts, posters, publishing my revolutionary writings, essays, etcetera, and coalescing the liberation movement of colonized, oppressed communities of Black, Chicano, Indigenous First Nations and supporting each other. There’s a pattern here, for the last 3 years Ramadan, I’m targeted. I’m snatched from mainline and taken to the hole under “Investigation”. I’m hit with some bogus “Unauthorized Organization” and I’m locked away in the hole for the rest of the year. It’s often that those targeted in prison, those considered activists or revolutionaries are sent to the hole, not for something they’ve done, but for what the administration thinks we MIGHT do. For them, it’s better to be preemptive. Not unlike the U.S. and Israel’s “preemptive” strikes on Iran. It’s just a cover for doing what they want anyways.
For 3 years, I’ve been dealing with this, now I’m here again, spend my Ramadan in the hole again due to nothing more than white fragility. The white male ego. Hurt at the notion that not only do I not like or respect the fascist state, but there’s a whole wide network of folks who also hold hatred for the state and do no think what they do is a “public good”, but rather, a genocide. Slavery by another name.
So I sit in the hole for “Disrespect” in talking to my partner on the phone about my frustrations with C.O.’s [ed.: Correctional Officers]. I was given 14 days that ended on March 16. They refuse to return me, instead placing me on “STM hold” indefinitely [ed.: Security Threat Management]. No cause. But then, the state doesn’t need a reason to repress us – they need reasons NOT to.
The real reason for all this? Enlightening people, giving people knowledge. I was buying books for people, studying books like “Blood In My Eye”, Settlers, “Open Veins Of Latin America”, studying black anarchist thought from Lucy Parsons to William C. Anderson, Martin Sostre to Lorenzo Irvin and more. That was my true crime. With the book ban nationwide, there’s a clampdown on literature. Oregon just relies heavily on division, racism, politics and drugs to keep people inundated. So when they see a multiracial group of guys studying together, discussing global politics, the intersectionality of oppression, deconstructing they systems that work to create our material conditions, studying the history of movements and people in resistance and defiance together – that disturbed them. Give oppressed people the books with which to liberate themselves – EDUCATION – they lose their fucking minds. The truth of the matter is: you cannot have a mind that knows itself. In order to break free, one must be acutely aware of being a slave.
So the true reason I sit in segregation again is the same as always – fear. Fear of blacks, fear of potential unknowns, those they cannot control. They ask that I be “friendly” and talk with staff, they ask me to apologize for my conversation and not “see staff as enemies”. I will not. I will not censor myself. I will not capitulate. I’ll leave prison saying “Fuck 12” as I did coming in. Pigs are swine, not friends. ACAB includes CO’s too. No matter the hole you put me in, I will not break my principles. You cannot suppress the people forever. That spark of knowledge will grow and spread, with me in the hole or not.

Notes for the future
All too often movements and their funders remain narrowly focused on the courtroom itself.
Movements still underestimate how much of these prosecutions unfold through narrative warfare outside
the courtroom itself. The government’s ability to shape public understanding of a case often far outpaces
the capacity of movements to investigate, communicate, and contest those narratives in real time. The
importance of public records requests, independent research, communications infrastructure, and sustained
narrative work capable of challenging official claims before they calcify into accepted truth cannot be
overstated.
The work is not only defending movements once political prosecutions emerge, but building the factual,
political, and narrative foundation now that will shape how future prosecutions are publicly understood and
contested. Our communication strategies have to get ahead of the curve and then stay nimble, aggressive,
and opportunistic.
Funding for communications infrastructure, investigative research, and ongoing public records requests is a
critical part of building the future political and legal record around how these prosecutions develop, who
architects them, and which movements or organizations are being deliberately targeted. That groundwork
matters later, when movements need to demonstrate that these prosecutions were politically motivated and
shaped by specific ideological agendas and networks of actors that can be identified, documented, and
exposed.
We need deeper investment in movement legal infrastructure, broadly: training a new generation of
movement attorneys, building networks of experienced criminal defense attorneys capable of supporting
defendants across regions, tracking and sharing intel about the state’s evolving legal strategies, and creating
durable relationships between organizers, communications teams, civil rights litigators, researchers, and
reporters before the next wave of prosecutions arrives.
Movements have underestimated how vulnerable these prosecutions can become when defendants are
supported not only by competent legal representation, but by broader anti-repression organizing,
communications, and political infrastructure operating alongside it. And this kind of infrastructure does not
necessarily require massive institutions or enormous staffing.
Consider the outcome in the failed cases against BLM protesters, labeling them as organized gangs in Phoenix. The core team working every day to fight those cases consisted of roughly 3 or 4 people, with another 10 or so regularly supporting the broader effort. That number of people, plus one reporter willing to follow the story, was enough to mount an effective defense, successfully push back against the state’s narrative, and force professional and political consequences for the architects of those political prosecutions.
This moment of revolutionary leftism as a theory being increasingly labeled as terrorism is daunting, but it is not hopeless. If anything, it underscores the urgency of investing now in the legal, communications, research, and organizing infrastructure capable of defending movements before the next wave of prosecutions arrives.
