It's funny, because real communism's end goal is actually anti-civ, or at least no civilization as we know it. It's not just about sanctions alone lets be honest, sure sanctions hurt but communists, real communists, they don't produce commodities, and a society without commodities looks empty. China and Russia have faced sanctions before, but markets adapt and overcome. Cuba and the DPRK, on the other hand, were actually convinced that communism would lead straight to anarchist communism or "full communism" which is a pipe dream most leftists gave up on for good reason. The nations that don't give it up are hanging on by threads and can offer nothing to their own people let alone others.
