What is pre-Revolutionary conditions in the modern day and is the United States already within those conditions?
I believe Colombia is an prime example of an nation in pre-revolutionary conditions compared to any else

erm

Hmm

diddy….

>be a decrepit empire
>underdeveloped and backwards
>openly corrupt ruling class
>get involved in horribly ill-considered war
<1905 Russia
<US today
>aforementioned war is the first breaking point for an already precarious empire
>attempts at reforms to modernize the country
>ruling class does not allow for the possibility of what would be necessary to resolve the contradictions
>masses are pushed into open revolt being the only option
<1917 Bolshevik Revolution time
<???? Second American Revolution
some of the details are slightly different in that we already have an ongoing Menshevik type reactionary revolt (a decade of far-right stochastic terrorism + Trump admin) and instead of a feudal ruling class we have neofeudalist billionaires but more or less a lot of the same conditions are present in the US today that were present in pre-revolutionary Russia

US doesn’t have peasants, it has mostly service workers, how are service workers supposed to be insurgents? They can’t feed themselves or hide

imagine summer 2020 but with more organized rioting and looting to appropriate resources from the empire and seizing territory piecemeal and that might be approximately the form it could take. the US is underdeveloped in ways that differ from feudal Russia insofar as the US as a country is very rich, but most Americans benefit increasingly little from that even up to the point of decaying public infrastructure. once upon a time the US was able to placate its own citizens by allowing them to share in the spoils of imperialism but unlike Europe which has been more successful at implementing socdem-lite policies by riding off its de facto ethno-nationalist conditions, the US is too oriented towards a more historically progressive model of the "free" market but as we know from Marx and Lenin, capital without a state to reign it in will start to cannibalize itself by ceasing to function as a free market. that's the brief history of how we've gotten here and why the US is in a rather unique set of conditions being simultaneously advanced in development (on paper – literally in terms of a GDP that is mostly speculative hot air) that is very unevenly distributed to the neofeudal bourgeoisie.

Colombia just elected a Trump-backed pro-Israel right-winger.

blatantly rigged. the count hasn't finished and that mf declared himself the winner on TV and jd vance congratulated him. and there were anomalies detected. the whole fucking thing stinks. but yeah i don't know if it's in pre revolutionary conditions regardless. i suppose every country es at every moment if you think about it haha if ykwim 🌿🚬 🌿🚬 🌿🚬 🌿🚬

By February 1917 they were losing territory along with already having suffered two million dead (wounded being some multiple of that). Inflation right now sucks, it's 4.2%, but it's not 400%. In that situation money essentially stopped being a store of value. It's not $20 burger, it's no burger.

>no burger
