Do you use algorithmic platforms like YouTube, X, Instagram, Xiaohongshu, etc.?
Objectively speaking, these are the most powerful and widespread brainwashing technologies currently in existence. Precisely because this here is a highly ideological forum, I wonder why this topic isn't being discussed here at all. You don't consume traditional mainstream media, yet you let X and YouTube dictate what you see and rewire your brain? And quite apart from that, the scale of algorithmic manipulation is not even remotely comparable to traditional media like television or newspapers. Are you even aware of what you're doing? Why do you think X and YouTube are banned in countries like China?
money has always been the most powerful and widespread brainwashing technology. if you want a brainwashed population, you give them financial security, you build up a middle class majority who have just enough money to pacify them and insulate them from reality, but not enough money to actually have any real power.
YouTube is just convenient. That's the main one I use. It's just about the only one I use and just about the only media I consume.
I used to be on twitter until very recently, when they started demanding that you install the app and verify your biometrics to use them.
Not willing to do that. Twitter was still fun if you used a sufficiently strong adblocker and used automated blocking to get rid of all the bluechecked nazis who pay for twitter, so I hung around, but I'm not giving Elon my fingerprints.
>>2864941>Do you use algorithmic platforms like YouTube, X, Instagram, Xiaohongshu, etc.?Reduced it considerably since the grass-touchy web is more fun, but yeah I peruse the torment nexus on occasion.
> You don't consume traditional mainstream media, yet you let X and YouTube dictate what you see and rewire your brain? It took me a few goes at it to understand what you meant by "traditional mainstream media" until I realized you probably meant newspaper and TV.
I use an RSS reader these days, but I do see people get weird and unhelpful opinions from the SEO web, to the point where when someone says something deeply brainrotted I just tell them to stop using twitter/facebook. I've been deep in the brainrot with pre-elon twitter before burning out on it, so I get how this stuff happens.
>Why do you think X and YouTube are banned in countries like China?Which is based of them, but it seems like they've made the same mistakes with their online landscape too. Xiauhongshu being a good example of it. Only thing that separates XHS and Tiktok is non-malicious moderation, but they're still not federated and thus vastly understaffed and susceptible to think tank attacks.
>youtube
I use PipePipe so only my subscription feed. Once NewPipe Extractor stopped working for a while and I had to go to ReVanced and I lost a ton of hours watching recommended slop clickbait that I don't care about for a straight week. My ADHD won't allow me to use this shit without ruining my life.
>short form videos
Deleted TikTok etc for the same reason. My Instagram is modded to not alow scrolling reels so I only watch the ones my friends send me.
I use Youtube Music and had Spotify before, all pirated of course, and I might get shit but this is the one instance of algorithmic recommentadion that I enjoy. It sucks for artists but for me as a user it's a big plus, and it's not even invasive I just use it when I'm sick of relistening to the same albums and personally curated playlists.
>xitter
I don't find microblogs nearly as addictive but I quit X because it had too many bots and ads, and I quit bsky because my friends weren't there and FUCK blue maga resistlib democraps.
>>2864947enslaved and impoverished people in prison and homeless drug addicts living under bridges will stab each other rather than the prison guards… but sure, the working class needs to be even MORE miserable. just two more weeks of immiseration and they will finally be triggered into being meat shields for the vanguard party. they are pacified by the not being dead, sure. take away the collective fund they need to carry out a strike for more than a few days and that will somehow make them STRONGER. take away the money they would need to get their hands on a gun, and they will finally overthrow the government. makes total sense.
Thinking is tiring and it hurts, it feels good to turn your brain off especially if you’re a prole and are exhausted all the time from just being in survival mode.
>>2865115What part of “nothing to lose but your chains” isn’t clear to you?
>>2865221What part of "holding out materially means preserving a sufficient superiority of forces to prevent the enemy from inflicting utter defeat" isn't clear to (You)?

>>2865221sorry but half-quoting Marx at his most poetic and polemical in a work he wrote at the age of 29 as agitprop during the 1848 revolutions just isn't going to cut it. His actual analysis of Capital came much later and was much more mature. Workers should in fact be fed, armed, healthy, fit, and disciplined. This is impossible if they are all starving skeletons in prisons.

>>2865115> take away the money they would need to get their hands on a gun, and they will finally overthrow the government. makes total sense.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jelly_Roll_(singer)#Personal_life<DeFord was baptized at age 14, but says around that time he began "dabbling" in drugs and stopped going to church. "The same year that I got baptized, I got arrested, and that started what would be a 10-year cycle of incarceration in and out", he said. From his teenage years into his twenties, DeFord was arrested several times and spent time in jail for various charges and felonies including possession with intent to distribute and aggravated robbery. While imprisoned, he earned his GED at the age of 23.[8] He received a pardon for his previous convictions from Tennessee Governor Bill Lee on December 18, 2025. (insert whiny emo Christo-fascist lumpenprole pig squealing about how no one understands his oppression)
>>2865608>poetic and polemical in a work he wrote at the age of 29He was just a kid! lmao
This thread is yet more perfect proof of why it’s pointless to talk to human morons on the internet. No one seems to grasp what OP is actually trying to say, and everyone is just talking past him. It’s no wonder you can have much more profound conversations with AI, it understood the OP immediately. You guys are obsolete.
>>2865718>I'm tired…preach sister, preach.
its the same people that convinced themselves/were convinced in school that mathematics is useless for life anyway and thus a waste of time.
now the same people talk about 'algorithms', 'AI' etc. and deem information technology some kind of mystical idol that makes things happen via magic.
