Amerimutt brotech company has been approved to launch a prototype satellite carrying a 20m wide mirror to reflect sunlight back on Earth on an area of 5km2.
The company plans to launch ONE THOUSAND of these things in two years and have 6,000 units in the sky by 2030.
Since we know the American government nowadays and in the future will be little more than a rubber stamp for whatever tech fascists want it's pretty much assured the company will try to fill the sky with reflecting mirrors unless their prototype fails spectacularly or turns out to be extremely unprofitable.

Lighting for one-time events and emergencies, which might require numerous satellites and more effort to coordinate, would be more expensive. For solar farms, he envisions splitting revenue from the electricity generated by the additional hours of light.>He said that Reflect Orbital’s satellites could be a tool to reduce the burning of fossil fuels and thus slow climate change.
