>IT workers don't need an union, that's socialism and we are libertarian entrepreneurs who are going to be rich
>NOOOOOOOOOO WE JUST GOT MASS LAYOFFED AND REPLACED BY AI
Does this happen in your country?

>>2880018
yes and it's so funny

Everyone will be unemployed and curb stomped by a police robot in ten years

>>2880043
Good, it’s what we deserve, I can’t wait for robocop to put my teeth through my brain

lol western white yuppie IT workers are already seen as an overpriced liability and being replaced by indians and asians who write better code for less money and don't need to be constantly babysat with devops managers to keep them from breaking everything and causing problems with their individualistic entitled white guy attitudes. go ahead and have your strike fellas, and clean out your desks on your way out.

>>2880043
That would be awful haha

Thankfully yes, we are currently trying to unionize them.

lol blaming the lack of IT unions on ideology (while not understanding how ideology even works) and not the fact that its an absurdly well paying job

>>2880043
Only thing we can hope is that CPC wins this AI race.

>>2881519
they already did

>>2881520
It didn’t save or benefit a single western worker (not that we would deserve it)

>>2880018
to form a union you need bargaining power. workers being replaced by AI don't have the power to form a union. it's like a machine is scabbing you all the time.

>>2881528
That’s true of literally every wave of automation that’s ever happened

>>2881530
and tell me about the current success of gas lamp lighting unions, saddlemakers unions, etc.

IT workers had to gradually get proletarianized because they started out as petty bourgeoisie and labor aristocrats highly adjacent to the military industrial complex. It took several decades of privatization deregulation and outsourcing for this process to reach a fever pitch, and now maybe tech workers will begin to develop the sort of trade union consciousness (let alone class consciousness) that had to be developed independently by manual laborers in the 19th century.

That's not … ugh never mind. It's the tor node baiters.
