The real tragedy of the American left is that anarchists, who used to be one of the few voices with a spine, who actually understood that the Soviet model was just another boot to lick got themselves conned. Maoists and Jucheists slid into their spaces, whispered sweet nothings about "anti-imperialism," convinced them that their righteous anger and adventurism needed a "scientific" framework, and suddenly all those "no gods, no masters" types started singing the praises of Pyongyang and Beijing. It appears anarchism in america were always just the violent cadre of the marxists waiting to be activated into their full form like some type of communist pokemon, evolving to the next pokemon form.
It's not a coincidence. It's not a mistake. It's an orchestrated campaign, and it's been running for years.
I've watched it unfold in real time. 40 crust punks on TikTok, crust punk bands becoming marxist / juche, 40! and counting who used to be your standard anarchist dirtbags, now posting Juche or Mao memes like it's their religion. You think that's organic? You think that's just people "finding their way" to a new ideology? No. That's a pipeline.
They're not even subtle about it. They look at me, they look at anyone who calls them out, and they smirk with the content they push towards people like me. They throw it in my face like they've won. Like the whole thing is a game. It's a circus of ex-anarchists circle-jerking about the DPRK while pretending they're still rebels.
Meanwhile, anarchists in Europe are still holding their federations together, still doing the work, still building real anarchy. They didn't fall for it. Why? Because they have a stronger tradition, a deeper understanding of what anarchism actually means and theyve seen the ills of state communism. Here in the US, though? Soft targets. Easy marks. All it takes is a few dedicated operatives and a lot of social media astroturfing, and suddenly you've got a generation of "insurrectionary Marxists" who can't tell the difference between anti-imperialism and buying into a cult of personality.
You think I'm paranoid? Go ahead. But I've seen the receipts. I've seen the same patterns across multiple spaces. I've watched the same people pull the same stunts. And I've watched entire communities fall for it, hook, line, and sinker.
This isn't the left being "misunderstood." This isn't a phase. This is an operation. And it's working.

America is too new at communism to get it. The US left has no memory, no tradition, no continuity. It's a bunch of people who read a few pamphlets, watched a few YouTube videos, and decided that hating the US government was enough to make them revolutionaries.
American anarchists were never true anarchists. They were always just Marxists who didn't like the suit-and-tie civility of modern revisionist Marxism-Leninism. They liked the aesthetics the rebellious posture but they never had the ideological grounding to resist the grift. So when the Jucheists and Maoists came calling with their "anti-imperialism" and their "self-reliance," they folded. They gave up their principles for a pipeline. hes a twitter from one of the pages juche poster runs. they speak to the strengths of the anarchist movement with sincerity to draw people in then they direct them towards maoism. you can see it happen in this thread.
In Europe, you have real anarchists. People who grew up in states that actually function, and chose to reject them anyway. They understand that anarchism is not about hating your country it's about hating the state. In China, where the CPC is in power, you can see who the real anarchists are people who resist a powerful state, not just a dysfunctional one.
But in America? The anarchists were always just communists who didn't like the civility and revisionism of the leninist crowd of the new guard. They were easy pickings. The right wing has been warning us about this for years. I guess even I got blindsided.
