is it worth reading? i personally found the problematic posed and why he felt heidegger was relevant to it pretty insightful. if you read between the lines you can see some of the themes brought up referenced in his marxism = islam meme video as well. if you wanna read just do it because a lot of the people who tell you not to read it are just reflexively reacting because he references reactionary thinkers (ridiculous given how immensely influential thinkers like heidegger and carl schmidt have proven to be for 20th century and contemporary continental philosophy). at the end of the day you should just judge the substance of the work yourself. by the time you reach to paragraph 20 you would get a feel for whether or not this is a problem you find theoretically interesting. maybe an interesting historical episode to keep in mind while reading is the cultural revolution. think about all the ideological witch hunts and such which happened during that time. then think about what happened later with deng xiaoping and chinese of the 21st century. somehow they arrived at a certain "revolutionary resignation", an understanding that the revolution was an objective process that goes beyond the ideological whims of individuals. how this ties in to "wokeness" can be seen in what the majority have negatively reacted to in this movement - the need to constantly police people's language and "unconscious biases", because for them politics is essentially an intersubjective game rather than a material one. pic rel is my own articulation of a critique of intersectionality that sort of ties into this
