One of my core political positions and personal values since I was a literal child is that any kind of violence and coercion is way worse when accepted and normalized or state sponsored. I can accept rape, murder, and torture as facts of life that are impossible to eradicate as long as the public is strongly opposed to it and the state cracks down on it. What disturbs and enrages me to the point of wanting to hurt people is when people become accepting of it and even worse when the state starts practicing it. A cruel criminal needs to be turned around and the community needs to be protected from him. A government oficiall that authorizes torture and degradation of a person ought to be shot on sight. The visceral reaction i get from normalized barbarity is so strong that its almost knee-jerk. I wonder if there is anyone else who thinks like this or if im a genuinely insane.

Holding politicians to a higher standard than the general public makes sense as an impulse, in a more rational world that’s what it would be. We don’t live in that world, statecraft of any kind is going to require brutalizing the outsider, lying, theft, all the evil any intelligence agencies do, including the dictatorship of the proletariat until it’s conquered the world.

Depressing but true

Hey I do remember that show and I did fucking hate it

I completely agree.

Government is abstract and far away, you probably won't even have to see it happen, or if you do it's on the TV or computer box just like football.

>>2899671
Ok i know Angela Anaconda sucked but god, was it that bad?

>>2899789
It was very bizzarre and schizo with a jarring style. Its one of my core memories evwn as a thirdoid.

>>2899789
T'was a show like the western industry shat by the dozens but with a slightly atypical artstyle. Frankly I don't see what was there to be freaked about.

>>2899671
You sound susceptible to "if you kill him, you will be just like him" bullshit.

I literally mention people needing to get shot in the OP.

It's late in the evening where I'm from and I have no mental energy left to dive into any hidden message, mind game, innuendo or what have you in a derailed thread in a left leaning anonymous imageboard. Answer or don't either way I'm not giving any more thought to solve that anyway.

You all may never know… perhaps it was so funny that youd laugh yourself to death when reading, or it was so bad it killed you from just how much it sucked but, ultimetally only i shall know what those twelve words truly meant (the bit was obviously implying that the op was talking about how the show itself caused the normalziation of violance or whatever serious shit they were talking about you silly goobers)

>>2899819
Exactly.

>>2899829
Wouldn't have guessed. I never have watched the vid in the first place.

>any kind of violence and coercion is way worse when accepted and normalized or state sponsored.
it literally always has been by default. the state is the monopoly on violence, and an instrument for one class to suppress another.
>I can accept rape, murder, and torture as facts of life that are impossible to eradicate
they aren't though. they can be eradicated
> as long as the public is strongly opposed to it and the state cracks down on it.
never has been the case at any point in human history
> What disturbs and enrages me to the point of wanting to hurt people is when people become accepting of it and even worse when the state starts practicing it.
the state never "starts" practicing it because the state has always practiced it.
>A cruel criminal needs to be turned around and the community needs to be protected from him.
the very category of criminal validates the state. the state often commits atrocities which are not crimes because they are declared legal by the state. Meanwhile there are actions which are the opposite of atrocities which are criminalized. Helping slaves reach freedom was a criminal act under slavery, yet not an atrocity. "criminal" is the wrong category for this analysis.
> A government oficiall that authorizes torture and degradation of a person ought to be shot on sight.
so you understand now.
>The visceral reaction i get from normalized barbarity is so strong that its almost knee-jerk. I wonder if there is anyone else who thinks like this or if im a genuinely insane.
no, you are sane, though I think you are getting some concepts confused in the process of expressing yourself.
