Israeli lawmaker smashes Palestinian memorial in occupied West Bank
Zvi Sukkot, a member of Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich’s Religious Zionism party, was filmed smashing the Palestinian Martyrs' Monument in the village of Madama, south of Nablus, with a sledgehammer. In a video posted to Facebook, Sukkot said the memorial commemorated two Palestinians who had killed Israelis and argued that it could not be allowed to remain. “We must take it down,” he said, adding that he wanted the memorial destroyed because children growing up in the village and passing it would be inspired to become “martyrs” themselves.

Montreal adopts 'diluted' Palestine motion, rejects push to become first N. American city to cut Israel ties
The amended motion placed greater emphasis on diversity and inclusion in Montreal while removing most references to genocide and calls to sever ties with Israel. However, it reaffirmed the council's "solidarity with the Palestinian people" and with civilian victims of conflicts in the Middle East, as well as its commitment to international law. In addition, the final version of the motion was amended to highlight condemnation of the 7 October attacks on Israel, and stated that Jewish and Israeli people in Montreal must not be held responsible for the actions of the Israeli government.

El-Sayed pushes to keep affordability message focus amid scrutiny from both sides
In each instance, El-Sayed tried relentlessly to stay on message. On Fox, he called opponent Mike Rogers a “beta” and took a jab at Pete Hegseth in a response to a question about the federal deficit, saying Watters didn’t seem concerned that the defense secretary, “the guy who used to work on your channel”, wanted to increase the military budget to $1.5tn.

He had the backing of a local chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America, and centered his pitch to voters on support for universal health care and economic justice. … In his statement, Howard encouraged other progressive candidates in the field to also drop out to avoid vote splitting. He labeled Maura Sullivan, a Marine Corps veteran, and Stefany Shaheen, a former Portsmouth city counselor, as “establishment” candidates in the primary.

Centrists Despise Hasan Piker More Than They Want to Win
El-Sayed’s primary win was a shock to the system for Democratic centrists, involving not just the victory of a pro-Palestine, Medicare for All–supporting progressive in a key battleground state but also one in which the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) didn’t endorse yet played a key role. This put establishment Democrats in a bit of an awkward position: they have long claimed the Left habitually refuses to “vote blue no matter who” come the general election and so pave the way for GOP victories. This wasn’t actually true, but it’s been one of the Democratic center’s most reliable go-to attack lines against their left flank. With the tables now turned and party centrists needing to “vote blue no matter who” and swing their support behind a progressive candidate to stop the Trump-backed Republican, a number of establishment Democrats — including El-Sayed’s centrist opponent in the primary — have backed the Democrat. But not all. One, Michigan Rep. Hillary Scholten, had preemptively refused to back El-Sayed against his Republican opponent before he’d even won the primary, and she now continues to do so, despite being called out for it by one of El-Sayed’s own former rivals. Days after his win, Third Way — a Wall Street–funded organization that advocates for Democrats to adopt Republican economic policies like cutting Medicare and Social Security — announced a $15 million campaign to attack both DSA and candidates who worked with the group, even if it meant costing the Democrats swing seats. They specifically name-checked El-Sayed as one of their targets.

What Does A. Öcalan’s “Social Sociology” Mean? A Marxist Critique of the Subjectivist and Utopian Left
Criticisms directed at Marxism are also made from this front, frontly by approaches that place the place the "subject" the "individual", the "event"at the centre of their ontological theses. The proponents of this approach, which we may generalise as the "subjectivist and utopian left", may be counted in the nineteenth century as the utopian socialists, Proudhon and Duohring; in the twentieth century, as thoses that exist current "Western Marxism", in certain beginning respects with Gramsci and including Luk'cs, Korsch, the Frankfurt School and J. P. Sartre; and in the last half-century as Laclau-Mouffe, M. Bookchin, I. Wallerstein, Habermas and F. Braudel The list of these names, among whom there are theoretical differences, may be extended, and their being brought together for various reasons may be criticized. Yet, from the standpoint taken in this article, even if they do not all possess an "individualist" ontology, the common features of their critiques of Marxism in just generalify discussing them together. The Marxism critiques of those approaches that may be called the "subjectivist and utopian" left concern "class" and "the dictatorship of the proletariat". In Marxist theory these are central concepts produced on the basis of "surplus value," which Engels called a "key" concept. In their place are put such concepts as the "individual", "the rights struggles of workers and various sections," "moral principle", "democracy", "pluralism" and so on. Thus an activity is that embraces the whole of society without class distinction and is carried out within cultural-ideological fields. This is not, as is sometimes claimed, the "development" or "advancement" of Marxism; it is the abolition of the science of history in the favor of bourgeoisie.

Californians should start building guillotines and label them "tax alternatives"

If Hamas had a brain or will of its own it should've focused on terror attacks against isolated enclaves in the west bank to make it uninhabitable to israelis instead of October 7.

It's insane how comfortable settlers are in the west bank when one mortar shell ends their existence.
