i can't know that until it actually happens. i can try to tell myself that i have strong convictions and principles and that i would never be a sellout, but the moment of truth is when i see the paycheck and all those zeroes dancing in front of my eyes and my mind is awash in visions of lifelong freedom and prosperity and limitless possibilities and never having to worry about work or bills or money ever again. from all i have seen, the batting average for people adhering to their principles when confronted with an enormous paycheck is not good at all, the odds of someone remaining the same person after winning the lottery are even more astronomically unlikely than winning the lottery is.

What materially causes the revolution to happen? When does the contradiction become so acute that a unified revolt becomes more viable than a continuation of the current regime? Why would they go along with it? A true global socialist revolution would inevitably involve the imperial core having to give up its relative privilege over Earth's natural resources, as the imperial core's material consumption cannot be universalized. Most people, including ostensible class conscious socialists, would resist surrendering that privilege as it would feel like downward mobility.
