Daily reminder this grain is the literal reason behind all social hierarchy in human history.

Humans lived in near-perfect egalitarianism before the onset of wheat production. It was only after wheat cultivation that social hierarchies and classes began to emerge, patriarchy being the first. Once humans realized they could dominate the land to grow wheat they began dominating animals, and from there they began dominating each other. Societies that had no wheat were far, far less hierarchical and had no patriarchy or racism/ableism. When colonizers began dominating and enslaving the colonized one of the first things they did was put them on a wheat-heavy diet as a form of colonial domination.

With this, the only way to achieve communism should be to abolish wheat production entirely. Gluten is also a neurotoxin and there’s proof it causes ADHD.

Shut the fuck up retard.

Tumblr circa 2014-ass post

This sounds like something an anarchist who’s in grad school for anthropology would have written in like 2010. Fun times those were.

Agriculture was mandatory after the death of the mega-fauna and the first global human famine

oppa homeless style mindset

tl:dw; vibe affirming fake stories create a "the fact that I thought this fake thing was real goes to show how bad the problem is" mindset, which creates an environment where fake stories are seen as mundane and acceptable for affirming the established consensus as built by prior fake stories. Self-sustaining content farms thrive in this.

Not that anon but the end of the ice age and over hunting killed off all the mega funa hunter gathers needed to maintain that mode of production. Its not like humans wanted to go into agriculture. We know because we have evidence of this because various domesticated plants like wheat appeared before the Neolithic era. They were aware of farming but chose to continue to be nomadic.

Hunter and gathers likely spread seeds after depleting an area so when they returned to that spot it would be renewed when they returned. As animal populations dwindled(especially the mega funa) hunter and gathers began inceasingly relying on crops.

the americas didn't have wheat before european colonization and the corn-growing aztecs and incas were big imperialist hierarchical civilizations. also there was the comanche empire, they didn't have crops at all they just had horses from the europeans and used them to conquer and enslave and terrorize people all over the great plains. oh and then there's ghengis khan and the mongols, they didn't grow crops they just used horses to conquer people and they forged the largest continuous empire in history and killed like 10% of the world population.

Based. My 37-year old self used to listen to this album all the time when I was a teenager in the mid 2000s.

Hot take, but OP is actually doing real historical materialism.

I swear I remember a zine from that time arguing this exact thing.

Cereals generally. However, your simple egalitarian model isn't favored nowadays, I think. See the paper:
"Human social organization during the Late Pleistocene: Beyond the nomadic-egalitarian model."

It argues we have a mixed ancestral strategy of egalitarian bands living in resource scarce areas between so-called complex hunter-gatherers which sit on resource rich areas and exhibit many traits usually associated with early states (high population, hierarchy, slavery) and that we were managing and cultivating plants and animals way before 10k years ago.

<The nomadic-egalitarian model confronts puzzling inconsistencies. On the one hand, our ancestors are said to have spent an appreciable duration of prehistory—anywhere from the last 40,000 to several million years—living in small, egalitarian, mobile bands. Status competition was stifled, and domineering behavior invited censure, ostracism, or execution. This social environment was purportedly critical in shaping the biological foundations of our psychology: Many scholars argue that understanding the evolution of the human mind requires considering the egalitarian origins of our species, while others, especially evolutionary psychologists, posit that the cooperation humans exhibit in contemporary large-scale societies reflects adaptations for interacting in small groups of non- strangers.

<Yet, as we will show, many reliably developing human behaviors are difficult to explain if the primary or exclusive social environment shaping human psychology was the small-scale, mobile, egalitarian band. Rather, such behaviors become much easier to understand when considered as the products of an evolutionary history involving diverse social environments.

.

<Recent examples of sedentary foragers include the Chumash, New Guinean fisher-foragers, and the peoples of the Pacific Northwest. Such peoples tended to exhibit several common features: They tended to exploit coastal resources. They sustained very high population densities. Although not necessarily completely sedentary, they exhibited less mobility than classically “nomadic” foragers. They had much larger group sizes, with some villages exceeding 1,000 individuals. They permitted and often institutionalized hierarchy by ceremonially bestowing status upon individuals who accumulated and redistributed surplus. Some groups kept slaves.
