So I don't sympathize with "former /pol/tard" crowd.

When i was a kid i was a basic bitch daily show watching, new atheist, liberal. It was very easy to be liberal back then because the right wing were stick up the ass moral police evangelicals, and liberals were live and let live libertarian types.

This all changed around i want to say 2014, around obamas second term. Liberals became "woke", or "social justice warriors", basically a mirror image of the stick up the ass evangelicals, type of people who want to control what you can do and say and are offended at everything all the time.

Not going to lie for a while i moved more towards the right. But eventually i realized in the event of a fascist take over i would be sent to ze camps. So i couldnt be a fascist. I researched communism and realized i couldnt work with that either because marx would consider me a neet lumpenproletariat scum, and since i am not a worker, why would i be a commie?

So i realized i was an anarchist, just a very lazy one.

I've been surrounded by them because I'm a homo who was raised by atheists in Texas (not Austin) which made me socially liberal by default as a general sensibility. Never went to church unless it was a funeral. I can sort of relate to Jennifer Welch who is this liberal wine mom from Oklahoma although I don't actually listen to her. I don't think my life story is very interesting but usually the people who I will reserve hatred towards are smug, corrupt, hypocritical megachurch preachers and people like that. My attitude towards the average chud though is like whatever. People I've actually had direct irl experience with either being called a faggot by random strangers on a few occasions (and I don't even come across as that gay) or being threatened (which happened once) have been of lumpen / criminal white guys. I'm pretty wary of guys like with the exception of bikers who are chuds too but I actually get along with them because they have more of an "honor" code in some kind of way I suppose.

Well I was thinking of Caleb Maupin who I'm assuming was raised in some mainline Anglo-Protestant church in the Midwest town where he grew up, and there's some kind of "community" that has been collapsing. But my experience is that the dominant power center of Religious Right politics (which has also been eroding in relative terms) is just comprised of some mean-ass sons of bitches. A certain premise of a lot of left-progressive ideology is built on a Spielbergian caricature of a decent honest Americana but if you allow that these people are just defiantly ignorant and malicious (and also craven and sort of pathetic), then the premise self-destructs. You can either pretend it doesn't exist or come up with some theory rather than actually grappling with it.

The odd thing is I grew up in a red state suburb and my dad loved right wing talk radio so it was always on in the car when we drove places but I was always a liberal new deal kinda person. We didn't really talk politics much though. In school they taught us a bit about labor struggles in the late 19th/early 20th century, the Triangle Shirtwaist fire, how food used to be tainted or adulterated until regulations, how the New Deal saved America from the Great Depression, etc. so I always thought libertarian econ stuff was just wrong. I also remember in like high school econ they taught us free markets are good because of competition, but then it leads to monopoly which is bad… so I guess the solution is to have a state break up the monopolies and restore competition. Oh I forgot to mention, I might be older than most people here, but back in the early 2000s we listened to Rush Limbaugh, Michael Savage, and Laura Ingraham. Hannity too but he was boring. I liked Savage because he was the most unhinged. Funny thing is, the one thing he libbed out on (relatively speaking) was protecting the environment, national parks, that sorta thing.

Both my parents are card-carrying members of the country's Communist Party who made major sacrifices for what they believed in. The entirety of my mother's side of the family were Communists, including my maternal grandfather and great-grandfather. They were persecuted by the security services. Fired from their jobs, exiled from the country, imprisoned, tortured, etc. Both my parents had warrants out for their arrest, with the implication that they would be executed.

I grew up with pictures of Castro and Guevara in my house, so I never went through a "chud" phase. Still, I get called that a lot because I reject false ideals like LGBT, feminism, racialism, etc. that only serve to divide the proletariat.

The sympathies for poltards come from back when we were on 8ch. Many of those people were from 4chan and were inculcated in image board culture even from before storm front takeover of pol when it was more a place for retarded libertarians. There was sympathy for poltards because you'd view them as like a retarded little brother or cousin and you had a shared community and language. There's also the fact that the main exodus from 4chan was basically triggered by the fallout from the same thing, 8pol and leftypol were functionally created by gamer gate so there has always been proximity between two groups from just being on the same site for 5+ years.

I am American. I was raised to be a liberal by a broken working class family full of white and black bastards from the South. I was raised by grandparents after my mulatto single mother failed to raise me on her own (late teen pregnancy situation; barely legal). She wanted to abort me but couldn't afford it. The man who got her pregnant was a white possibly autistic (not diagnosed but everyone suspects it) failson who was almost 30 and self-ostracized from a very liberal-democrat but nevertheless very rich bourgeois family. I have a very loose relationship with both of my biological parents and both of them are quite incompetent in their own unique ways. My mother was a teen runaway and did a lot of drugs and had a lot of bad shit happen to her. My dad was a white dork who had life handed to him on a silver platter and still somehow fucked up because he's a lazy nerd who can't keep a job. They are both gen X, but on opposite ends of gen X due to the age gap.

All this to say I was raised lib. But in a very unusual situation, and with a lot of peripheral family members being working class chuds like my uncle who is a trump voter and a bit of a racist despite having asian people and black people who are his blood relatives. Despite being raised to be a lib by my grandparents, my mother is an anarchist and my father at one point believed in "horseshoe theory" until Trump derangement syndrome made him realize in his 50s that horseshoe theory is stupid.

But I discovered Communism after basically constantly getting accused of being communist while describing my political thoughts online. This was back in the mid to late 00s because I am no longer young. But I discovered communism. Turns out the people who accused me of being Communist didn't actually know what Communism is, and think social democracy is Communism. But thanks to them I had my curiosity piqued and started reading Marx.

Am I still Communist? Well that's a different story. But I will never be a liberal, anarchist, conservative, or reactionary. I am probably some kind of strange synthesis of social democrat and Communist. I don't think we are going to get anything like the 20th century Marxist-Leninist regimes again, but I also realize the point people make about the imperial core lifestyle being unsustainable and social democracy being the moderate wing of fascism. I can't be an anarchist because they strike me as having no real theory, just vague anti-authoritarian feelings which come naturally to anyone with common sense, but cannot form the foundation of a practice that will actually do the hard work of sublating class society.

not the same thing. one is just an acronym for being Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, or Transgender. It is not a "think tank" or an "ideology" it is literally just an acronym for a rather arbitrary subset of sexual minorities. It has no class content because class content is not specified. A lesbian chosen at random could be from any socioeconomic class. Making "LGBT" the focal point of an analysis by default ignores class and it should be criticized as a framework on that basis, rather than some much weaker basis…. like "LGBT is bourgeois" (it isn't; it has no class content specified) or "LGBT people area all liberals" (they're not) or "LGBT is western decadence" (that is just stupid because LGBT people have always existed everywhere in the world).

On the other end of the spectrum you have people who openly identify as both religiously and ethnically Jewish. Because identity-minorities are often boxed in by their outgroups and it doesn't matter if they reject their own community or not, because society treats them as part of it anyway. Just like a black person might reject the concept of blackness but everyone will look at his skin and say "you are black".

I am not calling you a liar but I will say that just because someone has communist parents and grows up with pictures of Che and Castro in their house, it does not mean they cannot be a chud. A person is not simply who their parents raised them to be. They have their own choices they can make. That is why I began my post by saying I hope you follow in your parents footsteps.

The proletariat can be divided by identity politics, it is true. I don't think anyone on this website rejects that idea, since it is probably the fundamental thesis of this website. However I would add a bit of nuance to this thesis. If you were to (not saying you are, but merely if you were to) treat your fellow proletariat as class traitors by default because they are a member of some minority identity group, then it would be you, and not they, who would be "dividing the proletariat." To unite the proletariat does not mean they need to all be straight, white, heterosexual, religious, socially conservative, etc. To unite the proletariat means rather that class becomes the basis of their struggle, despite their internal differences of identity. This is hard to do in practice and it is very easy for the bourgeoisie to divide the proletariat on an identitarian basis. Dividing the underclass by identity is such an old tactic for the ruling class that it predates capitalism. It is the basis for the tower of babel myth. Mankind unites and tries to build a tower to heaven and God "confuses their language" to divide them into nations and scatter them to the four winds. It is a very old idea. Very very old.

This website is also incredibly niche in the grand scheme of things. However, the undertones of idpol on here does exist, albeit it's much less pronounced compared to IRL leftism. However, even on this site, people are very tribal in their material interpretations of the political economy. Leftcoms versus MLs versus anarchists. First Worldists versus Third Worldists.
