Have you heard about the Spainish protests? Do we have any espanolanonos who can elaborate?
Context: an ~80yo woman who was on a rental contract that she inherited from her parents had her house taken over by private equity, increased the rent by like 4x, then evicted her. The people successfully resisted it and it has now turned into a mass movement of the landless youth.
I kneel.
lets hope it sizzles and the spanish volk liberates itself from their dengoid goverment
Protests are just another tool governments allow you to have to feel like you have power when you don’t, it’s like letting your toddler throw their tantrum among their playpen and toys
Meanwhile Germany is currently discussing banning (yes banning) eminent domain specifically and just for nationalization residencial real estate and housing pre-emptively. lmao
>>2924919Yeah but the right wing rightist (PSOE is left wing rightist) in Congress shot down both "pacifier" laws that were drafted, making the protests go for longer.
why is this dumb bitch of sanchez calling for snap elections when psoe and sumar are below pp+vox? do socdems worldwide just have a permanent death wish
Maricamen Abscal, the elderly lady whose eviction started these protests, died of natural causes tonight.
>>2928154These bitchass socdem "unions" always making it so late. I hope Madrid looks like France tomorrow
>>2924879Bumping this because she died today, the bourgeois state killed this women.
Riots? Place your bets.
>>2924919it literally just caused a collapse of the government who didnt manage to pass bill responding to the protests, and new elections are now planned
>>2928518If Socdems were smart they could pin all the blame on Vox and Co for denying even bandaid buuut being socdems they'll proablably epicly snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
I sense a sizzle
>>2928550It's okay, they're seemingly doing it to themselves:
>On Thursday, members of left-wing parties held a minute of silence outside both the regional parliament and town hall of Madrid. Politicians of the conservative Popular Party and far-right Vox did not participate in either. The right-wing parties have repeatedly called on the government to send in police to break up the camp-in in Puerta del Sol. The government has refused. Updates?
there are so many communist parties in spain but none seem to be albe to give these protests a communist leadership
>>2929170Neolib+AltRight parties will win. Opportunity for the left to build extraparliamentary force.
>>2929221All communist parties on Spain are revisionist and eurocucks. There's Frente Obrero but they're reactionary nazbols
PP + VOX has like 50% of the vote
It's over
>>2929946This country is full of reactionary petit bourgeois scum I wish I was basque so much it's unreal
>>2924919The pressure from the protests has also made it possible to stop several evictions
>>2932341Ceuta and Melilla are part of Spain. That said, nationalism and racism are fucking awful and the treatment of migrants has been shown to be dreadful
