Lula's gonna lose isn't he? It was tight last time and the yanks weren't actively trying to rig it that time around.

gg.
i prefer lula, but it's lula's fault. in all fronts, this second term he was a pathetic little old man. no pushback against the austerity programs imposed by the senate and congress, obsessed with venezuela (in a very bad way), didn't help cuba not even once, and even after 3 years of israeli genocide he didn't close the israeli embassy.
>>2926275 (me)
>>2926213tbh, i can see that lula only won because of covid and that covid put bolsoshit father on the path of losing the election
>>2926283time to bet those 150 in lula's favor for the runoff. to see if a miracle happens. after all, all polls were saying that lula was projected to win. i assume now, inasmuch as maths ain't mathing for lula, all polls will say that bolso is the projected winner.
bolsonaro's party and allies also increased their numbers in both the senate and chamber of deputies
it's over

>>2926283>profiting from the fall of cuckla da silvaits just too giga…
>>2926657Lula losing and Bozo jr winning is bad for all kinds of reasons, but Lula's empire appeasement and middle-road soc-demism was bound to fail and now it has collapsed across the entire region.
Lula did nothing when Venezuela was attacked and re-colonized and spent more time criticizing Maduro for "authoritarianism". Lula did nothing when Morales was being couped. Lula did nothing when Cuba was being sieged and starved. He abandoned all his logical allies to the empire while denouncing their real or imagined deviations from his soc-dem idealism, failing to realize when the "radicals" are eliminated all around him the empire doesn't need to tolerate the "moderates" anymore either.
He also acted to block on any significant moves by BRICS to create real alternatives to dollar hegemony, counseling moderation and delay (and also blocked Venezuela's entry into BRICS when that could have given them more of a lifeline against sanctions).
And what did all this lead to other than his own demise and the total collapse of the left across the entire region? Well done Lula. Well done.
>Walk on road. Walk right side, safe. Walk left side, safe. Walk middle, sooner or later, get the squish just like grape. - Mr. Miyagi (1984) its crazy how it only took the CIA one election to turn an anti-imperialist multipolar political economy into an imperialist-proxy fascist one…
>>2926711So Lula fucked up big time. What is the future of the Brazilian Left
>>2926711All of that geopolitical shit but the fact is he didn't do economic reforms, nor armed the workers nor build extra-parliamentary force. Socdem plain and simple
>>2926733death when bolsonaros attempt their next successful coup
It is a part of the strategy of "retrenchment" for US imperialism under Trump; the stalemate in the Russia-Ukraine war and the failure regarding Iran led the US to abandon the neoconservative strategy of expansion across the Eurasian landmass. Instead, they have shifted toward propping up puppet regimes loyal to Washington in Latin America to establish perpetual exploitation of the local population, much like the United Fruit Company did in the early 20th century.

how is that possible?
>>2927600Catholicism is too boring and solemn for a new worlder mind.
the re-colonization has begun
Contextualizing my international Leftypol brothers:
Lula lost to Flávio Bolsonaro by a 1.8% margin (around 3.5 million votes). Lula will receive around one and a half million votes from the losing parties, while Flávio Bolsonaro will receive two and a half million votes from the parties that lost (this is not certain, just speculation). Around 44 million Brazilians did not vote or cast a blank ballot, so the electoral race for Lula is about winning over these voters in order to win the election.
Flávio Bolsonaro has strong connections with Brazilian evangelical churches, which are a plague that is spreading throughout Brazil's peripheral neighborhoods. Slowly, the number of Brazilian evangelicals has been increasing since the 2000s, along with all that bullshit about the virtue of money and that Americanized mega churches crap.
Besides Flávio Bolsonaro strong connections with evangelical churches, he also has strong support from the Brazilian Army (which has a wet dream of carrying out another coup in Brazil) and foreign support from the United States. So Flávio Bolsonaro's propaganda basically boils down to "stop communism" and "Brazil is going to become Venezuela." This is very appealing to the population (especially those in rural areas), since the great majority are conservative and support traditional values.
The left in Brazil has made some advances. We managed to elect a few left wing deputies and senators, but the majority are more radical than what we had in the past. Candidates such as Jones Manoel, who is a communist, and Giovana Mondardo, who is from the Brazilian Communist Party, won (whether they really are "pure communists" in the eyes of some people is another matter), but it had been a VERY long time since Brazil had elected people who openly call themselves communists to important political positions.
Now, the Lula government, besides going after the votes of non voters, is also running a massive campaign on social media. Basically, Lula is meeting with young figures from the left that win the elections (most generation Z) at the Planalto to discuss new methods of attracting votes through social media. There are already hundreds of profiles on platforms such as Facebook, TikTok, and Kwai posting anti-Bolsonaro propaganda aimed at boomers. On top of that, Lula is calling on his supporters to take to the streets during this electoral race, and his supporters are encouraging graffiti, wheatpasting around cities and busy areas with posters defaming Flávio Bolsonaro.
Flávio Bolsonaro continues with the same strategy that allowed him to pull ahead of Lula.
>>2927550The history of northeastern Brazil is kind of complicated but VERY interesting, so I'll try to summarize it for you:
Northeastern Brazil was deliberately kept poor by the governments of the 1930s and 1940s, essentially being treated as a rural region for growing sugar cane and other crops. So, as a political project, the people were kept in hunger and misery for generations by latifundiary's, which resulted in a rural exodus of northeasterners to large cities such as São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. Lula himself went through this. Based on this history and his strong cultural connection with the Northeast, Lula managed to create a very strong electoral base there. Lula and the PT (Partido dos Trabalhadores - Workers' Party) are part of the popular imagination of the average northeast citzen, representing a hardworking, honest man who came from the same shitty hole as them and became president. In addition, Lula implemented various industrialization and education policies in the Northeast, which only made him even more popular there.
The right wing secured 22 seats in the Senate, while the left won 8. We elected 124 left wing federal deputies, 12 being far-left.
The Senate has 81 seats and the Chamber of Deputies has 513 seats. The rest are either center or right wing.
So even if Lula wins, it will be a very difficult term to negotiate with Congress, especially since he is a social democrat.
Basically, that's it.
>>2927620This electoral race in Brazil is much more about culture and ideology than economics or security from both sides. Lula is just as much of a sellout as Flávio (maybe A LITTLE less so). The difference is that if Flávio wins, all these evangelical beliefs, the idea that the United States is superior, and the idea that people have had enough of woke culture will become even more intense, not to mention that his father will be released from prison.
In my opinion, it is possible for Lula to win. This is one of the closest elections in our history, but personally, I think Bolsonaro is going to win and we're going to become Israel 2.0.
>>2927624The first one is the most recent election poll i found.
The second image is an AI slop i did it.

>>2927678The British are the most revolutionary people in human history.

>>2927620thanks for the write up
>>2927736Lula supporters always hated workers, this is not news
So who won?
why doesn't brazil have an urban rural divide like other countries? even major cities like rio or sao paulo vote for bolsojew
>>2928000the prolecattle will get what they fucking deserve, to be milked dry by the US and Israel
>>2927927The presidential election will have a second round since no candidate exceeded 50% of vootes.
However Bolsonaro is far ahead, plus basically anyone who didn't cast a vote for Bolsonaro or Lula voted for some other (center-)right candidate, and the other chambers just had a landslide far-right victory anyway.
Bolsonaro will win and yes, this is a huge blow for the Brazillian left regardless of what twitter socialists from the other side of the globe say. Every Brazilian communist organization is shilling for a vote for Lula right now.
There will be zero redeeming qualities of a Bolsonaro government, just as there was no improvement in worker organization and uprising in Brazil after two decades of a US-backed military dictatorship. He's ten times a bigger gangster than they were.
>>2928000The rural areas are now even more reactionary than the big cities. There are some factors for this, such as mayors of small towns receiving heaps of shady money from fellow reactionary congressmen, the extremely popular Brazilian "country music" industry being coopted by "billionare grindset" corporate shills (pic related - the house of a brainlet "singer" and moron), the evangelical surge, the lack of presence of leftist organizations etc.
There *is* a divide in northeastern votes as
>>2927620 said but that is also diminishing slightly.
Bump!

The problem is Lula ran his previous campaign on turning poors into treatlers and that didn’t happen because it’s not the early 2000s anymore and there’s no more commodity boom to sail into, combine that with the recent scandals and it’s no wonder Brazil of Hope is finished. It’s not just Lula or Brazil this a problem endemic to all of South America and the Caribbean. That’s not to mention most of the enjoyment from those middle class luxuries come from said luxuries being denied to those the consumer deems lesser than them, the delicious steak and fish and cachaca are ONLY delicious if the cast of City of God can’t have it, that’s a huge part of the organic support for either Bolsonaro. The CIA can and does do a lot but they don’t get far without an organic base of support for whatever nonsense they’re trying to pull.
