the future of politics isnt left vs right, but bio conservative vs post humanism. This is especially going to play out if AI and tech dont turn out to be duds.
You can already see the seeds of these movements blossoming between people who are anti AI, pro human, and people who are pro tech and accelerationist slap fighting on various social media
>bio conservative
Conservatives will have died out by the time post-humanism is a thing.
>This is especially going to play out if AI and tech dont turn out to be duds.
They’re duds
>>2928679I think a lot of people you're placing under the bio-conservative label would be fine with genetic and cybernetic modification.
>taking culture war nonsense at face value
politics is about class
proof: whatever "sides" you have made in your head will kill you in agreement if you try to expropriate their stuff
that's really been the core debate in politics since the very beginning, whether we are supposed to be a society of humans or a society of gods and beasts. all of the "post-humanism" rhetoric conveniently omits any mention of the people who cannot or will not ascend to the superhuman level, because their obvious fate is to be reduced to subhuman animals, enslaved cattle at best and exterminated vermin at worst. and if they are all exterminated, then the remaining superhuman category will naturally split into two tiers of superhumanity because fundamental logic does not allow for sticks with only one end, so ultimately what we really get is just a species that becomes increasingly cruel and increasingly effective at inflicting its cruelty upon itself and the universe, and this is called human progress.
>>2928679It's gonna be so cringe when live gene editing let's people become irl furries and video game characters, on the other hand it will obliterate race discourse, so that's something I guess.
>>2929387Why is that more cringe than the existing body modifications available right now like tattoos, piercings, scarification, hrt, srs, or a skin graft?
>>2929389Carnie culture is cringe too but you get called a fuddy duddy reactionary if you complain about it. In the future the people who cringe at irl furries will be called flesh fascists or something.
>>2929405Cringe is nothing more than human authenticity, living in fear of cringe is being afraid of being fully yourself, a fear of vulnerability
fuck flesh porky
fuck robo porky
