>be a human in the year 2126
>living in the most habitable region of the us, which now resembles the former african savanna
>sleeping underground during the day and living nocturnally to avoid lethal wet-bulb daytime temperatures as well as cannibal hordes
>living on a diet of foraged pest insects and bitter fibrous weeds and what little cultivated sorghum and quinoa that survives the locust swarms
>decide to migrate into the former tundra of northern canada to escape the hellish consequences of climate change, because surely it must be nice there now
>abrupt thaw of permafrost has created a completely novel biome that humans could never have adapted to
>sink and become trapped in chest-deep freezing dense mud
>start choking on toxic invisible methane and hydrogen sulfide gas from massive amounts of rotted dead conifers buried in the muck
>get bitten by swarms of mosquitoes and biting flies and ticks which are all carrying newly-released ancient pathogens that were frozen dormant in the ice for eons and humans have zero immunity to
>die a horrible death and literally become swallowed up by the earth and belched out as a cloud of stinking fart gas
All necessary historical progress chud
If we can't progress in 100 years and we even regress instead, then it really makes no difference. We as well might be a pack of Zebras.

>>2933503Did you just rewatch Spaceballs?
>>2933506haven't ever watched that, i was reminded of an article i read about the future of climate change. you probably can't read my barbarian language but here is the link:

when people talk about the consequences of climate change they often just talk about the temperature itself or tend to envision vast barren deserts or an extreme venus-like hellscape, but the real nightmare will be the fact that the earth won't be barren at all - it will be teeming with life, and all of it will be the worst kinds of life that humans have no use for at all, almost everything that lives will be ugly and smelly and slimy and diseased and filthy and worthless. rats and roaches and parasites and disease-causing smelly toxic gas-producing bacteria and toxic algae and venomous jellyfish and thorny bramble and gnarled thin trees, all the plants and animals we liked will be gone and we'll be alone in a hostile world that has no place for us. we will realize too late that there was, in fact, a god all along and it was the earth and we have killed god and now nothing can save us.
