>>2937353i mean this sincerely and without malice: are you semi-illiterate? you've quoted the same post twice as though they are different posts, and in your second instance you've clearly stopped reading the sentence half way, right before the crucial marker of past tense.
it is not simply a matter of differing personal opinions to say, simply, that musk and his followers are
not cool. one may not be able to pin it down and quantify it exactly, but it is a manifestly obvious underlying condition. there are people out there who are cool who i loathe and detest, but who clearly have clout. musk does not. he has money, he has power, but he is not and will never be cool. you cannot simply handwave away a huge underlying force of human culture by going "yeah but that's just like, your opinion!", especially when it comes to matters of taste (coolness).
it is apparent to me that it's a waste of time talking to you but i'll do this for the benefit of anyone else reading: the mistake this poster makes is that he imagines my analysis comes from a place of personal sympathy. i do not hide my sympathies, but this is not the case: what i do, and what i recommend all of you do, is extend materialist analysis fully to
how individual human psychology works and
the dynamics of the media we use. we judge our status relative to those around us! different mediums fundamentally shape the content they contain - you get very different posts on imageboards, on reddit, on twitter and on furaffinity because the fundamental underlying design of each creates different affordances for different styles of posting. "material conditions" goes much further than just "who is booj and who is prole" quickly handwaved to "who is rich and who is poor", especially when we're talking about something like
coolness/social capital on the internet.
p.s. the idea one has to "go all the way" and spend lots of money is asinine. even if i were to concede that to become among (say) the top 10% "coolest furries", you've gotta buy an expensive suit and as much art as you can imagine - so what? why not settle for being in the top 50%? why not settle for being in the bottom 20% of furries by coolness - and still half the fucking loser you are posting shit on leftypol right now?
at a certain point you have to accept that "i'm a loser because i'm poor" is just cope. you can get a disproportionate amount of attention by ripping some 3d models and slamming them together pornographically in blender or SFM for the upfront cost of the device you're using to make bad posts right now. at a certain point you have to turn materialist analysis on your own circumstances for the purpose of improving them rather than as excuses for your own failure to do what is manifestly possible because you think you're too good for it or because coming up with excuses for continuing to wallow in self pity is more rewarding than trying something new.
i do not really believe this will help you. i am not telling you to "pull yourself up by your bootstraps" or whatever cliche you'll trot out in response. i am simply writing a litany against my own past mistakes.
