It is plainly shocking that the ongoing protest movement in Albania (dubbed the Flamingo Revolution) is barely being mentioned here!
The movement started as a protest against the proposed luxury tourism developments in Portonovo, Sazan Island, Zvërnec, and Baks-Rrjoll, it was supported by Jared Kushner (trump's son-in-law). The developments would've caused ecological damage to the coastal regions, and if you don't know Albania has a long history of its enviroment being destroyed.
The protest has expanded to include protests against western influnce and the social democrat NATO government in general, with several government buildings being burned down and even a storming of the parilament and a fire lit inside of it earlier this month.
The PKSH (Communist Party of Albania) has also voiced it's support of the protests and have seen a jump in membership from students during the crisis, the party has usually been filled with boomers and low electorial gains but its changing.
