What is the point of pretending that nation-states are an organic and useful political project in the modern world? Lenin most famously promised nations of Russian empire independence (with some tactical considerations, mostly regarding colonies). Not every swampy town with dozen people automatically has some god given right to secede and form a new country as long as they fight for it, nor should we applaud it.

Europe and Persian Gulf has many sorry mistakes of countries with around million people, not a hint of economic independence, no real military, no influence, only real political "independence" is to choose who they vassalize themselves to, and if they choose poorly the people will pay the price. The current UN system insists (thanks to historic precedence) that they should be treated mostly the same as world superpowers in international affairs. Most of eastern Europe is full of this "small business owner" tier of a country.

I'm not arguing against people's right to govern themselves or local governance. But to me it's obvious that this is one major fault in current world politics. Many countries in UN are literally just extra votes for one superpower or another, bought and paid for by financial dependence and assistance. How do we remedy this? Restructuring or collapse of the UN system is coming in the not so far future. People are talking that security council does not represent the actual balance of power anymore while it includes countries like France and UK, but excludes countries like India, Brazil and Iran. People don't look at the issue of small countries and their minuscule and still outsizes influence that creates distortions and makes it even harder to move forward in international affairs. Not to speak of the inefficiencies it creates when every mini and micro state has it's own laws, social services, police, etc (because that makes them a state). In many places the differences between countries are minuscule and are already eroding by cooperation between countries. European federation would make sense to me if in practice all the people pushing it wouldn't be the fucking EU and liberal closeted fascists and idiots.

at least one advantage is that is one of the state makes a bad decision or passes some shitty law all of the other states doesn't automatically have to follow it

How does this differentiate from arguing that power in city and municipal level should be maximized because the top level government can fuckup? Also the worst and most harmful and suicidal national legislations and policies are usually pushed by foreign entities and smallest countries are usually too weak to say no.

>I'm not arguing against people's right to govern themselves or local governance.
I am. How are we supposed to achieve communism if these reactionary morons who have been Stockholm Syndrome'd into believing that the ideas of the ruling class is "their culture"? Or even worse, the dumb shit their inbred monarchs from hundreds of years ago forced onto them onto pain of death and torture is "their culture"? Don't even get me started on religion. It's nonsense. Federalism is just an excuse to let heckin' wholesome local flavored bourgeoisie continue their dominance over the local population.
>European federation would make sense to me if in practice all the people pushing it wouldn't be the fucking EU and liberal closeted fascists and idiots.
Like you said, it would be one thing if people could realize that their culture is fake and forced onto them, but the prolecattle with fight and die to the last breath for their masters because it's all they know. We would have to destroy all remnants of bourgeois culture first for us to even begin discussing this.

I agree, Canada should be annexed ASAP.

Why stop at Canada? The US already rules a Spanish speaking population in Puerto Rico, so why should Mexico or any other Latin American country exist?
