For those of you who aren’t familiar with Brazil, there’s a criminal organization called Comando Vermelho (Red Commando) which is one of the largest in the country today. It was founded during the military dictatorship when communist activists were imprisoned in the same cells as common criminals and taught them guerrila warfare tactics, in the hopes this would start a revolution.
It didn’t work and Comando Vermelho eventually completely abandoned the ideology though they still maintain the name and imagery.
