It seems, unfortunately, that politics has devolved into personality cults around internet characters (Hasan, haz/hinkle, destiny, fuentes etc.). Call it fake if you want, but these personality cults & their online communities form the political machines that mobilize the largest amounts of people outside of established politics. Made this thread for sharing resources & ideas as to how to become an influencer & how to use the internet for actually productive purposes.

The people here wont like this, because they want to be 38 something year old plus contrarian when it comes to zoomer culture like influencers and streamers. If it wasn't such real battle, then why would so many agencies, groups, advertisers, governments, etc always look for solid groups of influencers?

Like with many things learn from the best. Copy what most influential streamers are doing as everything they do is carefully orchestrated to maximize views -> profit.

Be young, rich, charismatic, and have a relative or friend in show business. Failing that, be an expert in something that people are interested in. Or make a splash in some new faddish thing and use the momentum to branch out.

Has it really? Politics on the internet definitely revolves more around these characters than before, but I don't feel like politics in general does. Where it does, it seems to be because more traditional institutions give them attention. Not saying this shit is irrelevant (though out of the five examples you've mentioned, Hasan is probably the most known to the mainstream), but I think you're attributing it too much importance. I also wonder to what extent this is a thing outside of the United States. In my country, the examples of popular online political actors are all just individuals or groups using the internet as a platform for traditional journalism, quite different from these streamers opining in front of a camera for 10 hours per day or sending a tweet into the ether every other minute.

Vidrel is an example of one of these online actors. The channel started out as two communists doing street interviews with people and politicians, and has grown out to having access to parliament and even has a foreign correspondent now. They've made quite a splash in politics here. I think this is much more interesting thing to try than these influencers where the focus is almost entirely on the fandom of the individual.
