I’m reposting this from yesterday for anyone who didn’t catch it:
On February 23, the Communist Party of Ukraine seems to have participated in a peace rally on the occasion of the 104th anniversary of the Soviet army. Participants issued a unanimously adopted open letter to Zelensky and the Ukrainian parliament. It was issued the day prior to the invasion, but after Russian recognition of DPR/LPR. It gives insight into the position of Ukrainian communists. Here it is translated to the best of my ability. I added a few bracketed notes for clarity.
An open letter of appeal by the participants of the rally "Peace to the people of Ukraine!" in the city of Cherkasy to the President of Ukraine V. O. Zelensky and the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on ending the fratricidal war in eastern Ukraine>We, the participants of the rally "Peace to the People of Ukraine!", held on the day of the 104th anniversary of the creation of the Soviet Army and Navy on the Hill of Glory [“Пагорбі Слави”, a Soviet-era WW2 memorial in Cherkasy, UA] appeal to the President of Ukraine V. O. Zelensky and the Verkhovna Rada [parliament] of Ukraine with a demand to take immediate measures to end the fratricidal war in eastern Ukraine.
>Further delay in resolving this fateful issue will lead to even greater human losses and to the irreversible loss of a significant portion of Ukrainian territory.
>Unfortunately, it seems that the top leadership of the state does not need this territory and the people in it.
>Apparently, such a scenario was envisaged back in 2014, when the “Bloody Pastor” Turchynov [Oleksandr Turchynov, Ukrainian politician] sent troops to eastern Ukraine, inventing the so-called anti-terrorist operation, and together with the savage Nazi volunteers [“озвірілими нацистами-добробатами”] launched a fratricidal war on Ukrainian citizens who had the opposite opinion from those who, with the help of the United States and some countries of the European Union, seized power by force in Ukraine.
>Probably for the same reason, President Zelensky did not want to sit at the negotiating table with the leadership of the self-proclaimed DPR and LPR and implement the Minsk agreements, even though they were approved by the UN Security Council. This was, as recent events have shown, a great mistake. Still, Volodymyr Oleksandrovych [president of Ukraine] and the People's Deputies of Ukraine should have implemented the Minsk agreements, which had no alternative, because they made it possible to save people and territory.
>We have not forgotten that Zelensky promised the people of Ukraine to become president of peace. But he did nothing to ensure peace in Ukraine, thus becoming a demon of war.
>After all, peace in eastern Ukraine depended on Zelensky, not only as President but also as Supreme Commander-in-Chief. Only he could give the command to shell the territory and the people behind the demarcation line. If he gave the command to fire, it means he did not realize that it could lead to a hot phase of the war. Or maybe he did, since such a large number of military units and military equipment was deployed to eastern Ukraine, as well as weapons and ammunition imported from the U.S., Great Britain and other NATO countries.
>Is it not to repeat the aggression of 2014-2015 under the pressure of Ukrainian Nazis and to draw Russia into this military conflict at the behest of the U.S. and NATO countries?
>And did you, the demon of war Zelensky, and you, the grantoids [“грантоїди”, “hrantoidi”, Ukrainian slur for organizations or individuals who exist on foreign grants] and the 5th column of the West in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, think about the consequences for the people of Ukraine and its territory?
>The U.S. and most NATO member states are dreaming of a military conflict between Ukraine and Russia, and of a perpetual quarrel between the Orthodox East Slavic peoples [“східнослов’янські православні народи”], while they themselves, like jackals, tear apart Ukraine in accordance with the EU’s restitution laws.
>Isn't that why at the Munich conference on February 20 this year, Zelensky was blessed with applause for the escalation of the conflict in eastern Ukraine and the involvement of Russia in this conflict and the refusal to implement the Minsk agreements?
>We saw how it ended on February 21 in the decisions of the Russian leadership on the recognition of the self-proclaimed DPR and LPR. Maybe this will cool the hotheads and force President Zelensky and the People’s Deputies of Ukraine to find a way to a peaceful settlement of the situation in eastern Ukraine, so that peace may reign in our Ukrainian home, so that people have jobs, decent wages and pensions, affordable prices and tariffs, so that Ukraine regains its power and prosperity, as it was during the Soviet socialist period of our history. >This letter of appeal was adopted unanimously. >City of Cherkasy>February 23, 2022https://kpu.ua/uk/101170/komunisty_cherkas__za_myr_i_sotsialnu_spravedlyvist>>531923Holy

>>532319He stream is actually atrocious. I don't really care if he supports Ukraine but his eager embrace of shameless, lying demagogue is awful and shows again that there is virtually no difference between the "left" and the "liberal" today.
The war in Ukraine if anything marks the return of uncontested Liberalism, in the West, where all opposing tendencies have actually converged on it. There is no dissent in the West about anything, except for irrelevant cultural differences that it creates and resolves within itself.
>>532383Every second that passes Zelensky can end this by stating that he will never join NATO, and agree to becoming a neutral country.

>>532398it's going to be ugly and horrific but the only way ukraine is going to get any kind of victory is a popular insurgency, which necessarily involves a blurring of lines between civilian and combatant. i'm not saying it's the right decision but he's the president of a country being invaded, making the choice to stay and put up a fight is admirable, especially under these conditions when russian victory is all but guarunteed
i dont understand the hate for zelensky here in general, yeah he's western aligned and shares the blame but he was trying to stop the US/NATO escalation, he had a very strong mandate and seems to represent the majority of ukrainians who are politically moderate and dont want war. poroshenko is the real villian, if you want to lay the blame on this on a ukrainian leader lay it on him
(:^)) >>532399>Ukraine will not give in to extortion.Pic related (you)

>>532448It's the only argument rt shills in here have left. That people should just entirely give up their country and do nothing

>>532518>I stay and die for my family and community. What's the fucking point of that? Yeah you die "a heros death" and maybe get popular in reddit/twitter for 5 minutes, and the invader will still rape and kill your people if that's what they want.
Heroic sacrifices don't exist, they're just liberal cope for the fact that the vast majority of people dies a useless death. Actually I would say that real heroes come back alive.
>>532529AZOV STARCHED WHEN
I CANT FUCKIN WAIT
>>532440im not saying its correct or good, just that as far as individual resolve goes, him staying and putting up a fight is respectable. its war, and it's their country being invaded.
if it was venezuela or bolivia being invaded by the US people would praise the president for trying to get all hands on deck to fight the invaders and probably condemn the men fleeing. obviously the ukrainian state is not at all a progressive force in the world so theres no reason to have any stake in their victory, especially since it would mean a bloody prolonged conflict. but it seems like an absurd double standard to condemn their leadership for trying to mount a defense of their country
(t-mobile IP switching astroturf) >>532557And how many of those 77% can find Ukraine on the map?
Do it, NATOuighurs. DO EEET.
>>532503>>532503>If Putin cares about denazification then why does he tolerate the presence of Nazis in Donbass forces? Mystic Putin is a chad-god that sees it all.
