>>552722>>552724It definitely all plays into the hands of the US, so him being an American puppet would make sense. But what I was thinking is that maybe he just genuinely got deluded into thinking that the West would actually have his back like he's asking for.
>>552725Or like you said maybe he got spooks in his ear.
>>552722Biden said that if Ukraine goes neutral, USA will back him. Even the US wants this to end, even if that means Ukraine not joining NATO.
>asked for a no-flyzone from NATOEvery single NATO country, including the chief of NATO, Jens, have repeatedly confirmed that NATO and NATO countries will not get involved, except sanctions and military aid.
>>552728>Biden said that if Ukraine goes neutral, USA will back him. Even the US wants this to end, even if that means Ukraine not joining NATO.When did he say this?
>Every single NATO country, including the chief of NATO, Jens, have repeatedly confirmed that NATO and NATO countries will not get involved, except sanctions and military aid.Of course, it's absolutely delusional to even think a NATO no-flyzone would be instituted. So the question is, why is he even asking for it?
>>552727If you were in his shoes, what would you do? The country is being invaded, global and domestic opinion is fiercely anti Russian. There seems to be nothing rational about the Russian government's decision to invade so its not clear how an independently sought truce could be achieved without straight up giving away territory to a hostile invader.
I am not pro NATO or EU, but Zelensky is also not a communist. From his position this is the most logical decision.
Fuck me dead, no wonder the left can't make any gains when you are incapable of 'war gaming' the actions of political actors.
>>552731Just imagine the reaction if any country that got invaded by the US asked for Russia or China to enforce a no-flyzone. They would be like "look this is why we should carpet bomb them even harder!!"
The arrogance of Euros lmfao. Is this some kind of holy war where Zelensky is protecting the Ukrainian holy land from Russia? Foh
>>552731Let me try giving an answer, then.
You're assuming that Zelensky is literally unaware of the implications of cozying up with NATO in Russia's face, and just thought he was suddenly attacked by Putin for no visible reason. That would make him incredibly naive and blind. We're doing his intelligence a favour by not assuming that.
The other problem is whether winning the war would really be "worth it" in the long run. Of course the Ukrainians make it seem as if the war is going piss easy, by reporting 3000+ Russian deaths (really?) but the cold fact is that this war can fuck over its economy and sending untrained conscripts to fight in a war without training is going to result in a lot of (former) civilian deaths trying to rush at tanks with molotovs. Not to mention the criminals with guns. He might be able to "win" if he gets some kind of outside assistance, but since that isn't coming? He could either surrender knowing that he's screwed, or try to defiantly fight to the bitter end.
The former might save more lives and keep the economy relatively functional, and Russia probably won't need to make much demands, since it'll look benevolent enough that the sanctions might drop. But for some reason, he's choosing the latter even if it seems to be really a matter of time until he gets crushed. The motives are anyone's guess. Maybe the stress got to him and made him a bit crazy. Maybe he knows it might sink his political career or make more political instability when the nationalists get pissed about him cucking out. Maybe he just bought into his own meme of being a hero, like it was some kind of movie war. Maybe he thinks this could be his epic battle which will win Ukraine glory and esteem in the world. But whatever it is, it's not a very good reason, and he's likely to just eat his words in the coming weeks.
>>552738Oh, and if I was in Zelensky's shoes? I probably would try not joining NATO if I could.
If I had no choice? I would listen to any of the secret weird shit that NATO told me and expose it while committing suicide on live television.
If I couldn't do that or anything to prevent the war? Take the blame, surrender, save lives, and get kicked out of government while being made a laughingstock for the rest of my life, knowing that in the end I saved lives even if I hurt my citizens' nationalistic egos.
>>552739Ah, so now we're Trotskyist imperialists?

A Ukrainian comrade has given a statement on how Western comrades may help the situation in Ukraine and also provides insight on what demands western leftists should make with regards to the war without supporting NATO or an escalation of the conflict, please repost and share as much as you can
>"What can you do to help Ukraine? I see this question often in western social media, and as someone who has just left Kyiv, I would like to offer my thoughts.
>I just saw that the head of the WHO called to open up a humanitarian corridor for civilians to leave Kyiv.
>A humanitarian corridor is when both fighting sides agree to allow citizens to leave the city safely along a designated route. It does not involve any military action, unlike a no-fly zone, and is an ordinary procedure in wars.
>The measure is extremely necessary for Kharkiv, Mariupol, Volnovakha, and many other Ukrainian cities and towns going through a humanitarian catastrophe at the moment, where people find it very difficult to leave the cities for safety due to bombing, armed groups, and curfews. Civilians are stuck in unsafe bomb shelters among the rubble of their houses, dying due to bombing, the cold, and are running out of food and medicine.
<I see lots of westerners calling for various military 'solutions' to the conflict, which would not only vastly increase the number of deaths in this conflict but probably only lengthen it.
<It is not worth giving in to patriotic enthusiasm about Ukraine’s chances for military victory – currently, this perception strengthens the hand of Ukrainian nationalists who are virulently opposed to any negotiations with Russia and would prefer to fight to the end, no matter the civilian casualties and annihilation of the country.
<Measures like opening a no-fly zone would even result in a direct confrontation between Russia and NATO, which, as everyone knows, would be a nuclear one.
<Nor are sanctions particularly useful in saving lives, since the economic effects will only be felt over the coming months, which will not affect the bombing campaign in Ukraine over the next weeks and days.
>In this context I would like to urge citizens of rich western countries to call for the construction of humanitarian corridors in Ukraine to save civilian lives. A negotiated compromise to end the war would be the best solution, but unfortunately this currently seems very unlikely to succeed.
>The construction of a humanitarian corridor is entirely possible – politically and militarily –, essentially free, and would merely require pressure by western nations on Ukraine and Russia to agree to allow this. "
BREAKING NEWSROMANIA LOSING AIRCRAFT EVEN THOUGH NOT IN WARA Romanian MiG-21 LanceR fighter jet disappeared from the radar in the southeastern region of Dobrogea late on Wednesday, the country’s Defense Ministry has said. The accident was followed by the crash of an IAR 330 Puma helicopter, dispatched to locate the jet.
The fighter aircraft, which is an Israeli-upgraded version of the iconic 1960s Soviet jet, disappeared some 15 minutes after taking off and heading to patrol the coastal region bordering Ukraine. A search and rescue mission was scrambled, with the helicopter dispatched to find the jet.
The helicopter, however, disappeared some 20 minutes into its mission as well, the military has said. Before the comms were lost, its pilot reported extremely bad weather conditions in the area.
https://www.rt.com/news/551098-romania-jet-helicopter-crash/ >>552887Not speaking as my official capacity as a mod But I figure that the surrenders especially are often staged - there have been multiple cases of these "POWs" being identified as members of the Ukranian national guard or other nationalist groups. We must not forget that the fascists within Ukraine want to prologue the conflict as much as possible, and so producing the idea of a weak Russia compels young men to fight for them.
However, in regards to the vehicle videos, it wouldn't be outside the realm of possibility for Russian soldiers to abandon their vehicles. Tanks and the like break down frequently, especially with continuous operation like in a state of war, and so they will be left behind by their unit to be picked up by the next echelon of advancing forces with fresh logistics (both parts and manpower/engineers) to either fix them up there if its minor or ship them to a FOB if its major.
If these Russians, while sitting around waiting for help, get attacked or feel threatened, it is probably military doctrine to bail the vehicle and retreat back to your closest friendlies. Tanks are replaceable, skilled crew are not.
So Ukranians get these videos of abandoned equipment, but 99% of the time there is nothing they can really do with it, since they likely lack the ability/materials to repair it or the vehicles to tow it, so they are as useless to Ukranians on a military level as they are to Russia. So they film these quick videos before trying to damage the vehicles further and then pull back, to get at least something of a propaganda victory from it. Then the Russians end up making their way to the vehicle, repair it or deem it too borked and salvage it for parts, and move on.
So in reality the vehicle videos don't really amount to much other than being propaganda meant for consumption primarily for Ukranians/Westerners to try and keep the war going as long as possible.

Between the space race with the Soviets, and the Vietnam war, America went bankrupt.
At the time the U.S. dollar had been selected by many countries of the world to be the worlds reserve currency (Breton Woods conference after WW2).
France figured out the U.S. started to print more greenbacks than they had gold/silver stored in vaults and demanded all of Frances gold be returned back to France and went on T.V. to explain what was happening.
Shortly after Nixon took the U.S. dollar off the gold/silver reserve standard backing system. many other nations followed suit.
Now, nearly every currency on Earth is FIAT and unbacked.
Gaddafi tried to make a gold backed Middle Eastern currency, he got Tupaced.
Saddam tried to make one.

In fact, the Ukrainian potato farmers are so untrained they are using it in the wrong firing mode and are just shooting it straight into the sides of the tanks, but its still defeating the reactive explosive armor.

>>553358meme-tier shit. Literally "storm the capital", "storm area 51", "buy GME", etc. Once the hive mind gets going, the intense ones will go above and beyond.
>>553374close, ok, it's LatAm
no, I don't work with Anglos/foreigners and it's not a sexpat touristy place
also people here side with Ukraine unless they're already braindead from consuming Venezuelan media
>>553394no idea, two weeks ago I couldn't predict the war and thought it was military pressure for diplomacy
now with the sanctions in and Russian economy falling from a cliff, everything is possible
>>553349UKROP shill cope lmao.
I can believe how these retards think they're winning when the only reason kiev is not carpet bombed is that Putin really wants to avoid civilian casualties, he should take off the kid gloves and go full Seelow Heights.
I'm tired of these smug ukraine retards.
>>553399he's just a manlet, no manlet should be allowed into power without through-and-through therapy
t. manlet
>>553412> the only reasonwell yes, that's the server setting for this war
and Russia is losing with it enabled
>>553409No geopolitical expert, but I'd imagine a backlash from the West to "ensure this never happens again" in the form of 'temporary' military deployment of NATO/US troops in Ukraine and expedited conversations on Ukraine, Finland joining NATO "to keep Russian aggression in check."
Russian people would turn on Putin for his failure, but instead of any promising political development they'd uphold another nationalist who "won't allow Russia to be embarrassed again"
>>553246Now, ain't it awfully convenient that you had experience in the leaf army to explain this sort of shit to us.
Thank fuck the autistic old BO is no more.
>>553216Тоже есть люди среди Украинских войск, слава богу
>>553123>he holodomor was justifiedsaid nobody ever
