Paul Cockshott has recently uploaded a video arguing against the idea that gay people are born gay, and that genes can affect sexuality. Instead Coockshott believes that being gay is caused by capitalism. He outlines his "theory" explaining this.

It's not wrong to say that the quest for "gay gene(s)" has been mostly a failure, but this doesn't preclude causes that can be described as "innate". For example the biggest correlation with homosexuality is low prenatal exposure to hormones associated with the birth sex, and as of now there's nothing you can do about that.
