How do I force myself to lose weight? Every time I am on my way to a decent physique I get hit by a depressive period and end up eating the sad away. I yearn to be intimate with someone but because I am too fat I lack confidence, cant imagine getting naked in front of partner.

eat your veggies

Stop buying snacks to bring home, never have snacks at home. Always eat homemade food or at a proper restaurant, never delivery food or fast food garbage. Quit drinking soda unless it's zero sugar. Quit drinking beer and wine. Find another form of escapism that doesn't involve eating, like drinking a buttload of coffee to cut your appetite.

If you find yourself asking for delivery, delete the apps and contacts. If you find yourself buying shit on the street, see if you can restrict your spending while outside (it's not feasible to leave without money as everything works on the phone these days but do try to create friction like locking the bank app behind a long password, lock your card to a pin like the old days etc).

Try creating an appreciation for water. Cold water. Drink it all the time until you don't crave other liquids anymore. You can do this to other food like rice, learn to appreciate rice instead of industrial slop. Good cooking skills go a long way here.

You don't need to do this all at once because you might not take it. Try one of these pieces of advice first, then add another one and see how manageable this becomes. Changing habits can take you the whole year. When you relapse, remember that it's normal and your progress isn't back to square one as long as you don't quit for too long. Keep at it.

One last thing: exercising is great for your health and regulating your appetite but it's not very efficient at weight loss. You need to change your diet. If working out + dieting is too much for now, cut the working out part because it's less urgent.

for diet, try using resistant starch
