It's about power or more precisely its representation, for the exact reasons this mold exists in the first place. Conversely, to consciously diverge from this mainstream, western conception of femininity is an active renunciation of power, moreso than the act of transitioning itself. Except, i myself have neither the socio-cultural prerequisites, nor the exclusive attraction to males and other psychological traits women are profiled for, to convincingly adopt this demeanor. Gaining a more nuanced understanding of women was a necessity for me to even consider social transition.

With the ones who admit to having anti-SJW phases circa 2015 (which there's a lot of, I've found), I'd say they took on a "my turn" mentality sometime after their eggs cracked. Their turn to be the oppressed one, their turn to use their identity as a cudgel and a shield, their turn to be the exact kind of person they were complaining about 10 years ago.
