OUT OF EVERYTHING WHY IS STOPPING SOME 14 YEAR OLD TRANS GIRL FROM GOING TO A SWIM MEET THE MOST IMPORTANT POLITICAL ISSUE!!! They probably do have an advantage, but who cares. When you turn sports into a competition to win, genetically gifted individuals will mostly dominate the field, and this is so much more than only gender.

You can't really make it 'fair'. Picrel is from a match of U16 US & El Salvador Basketball teams. Game (of course) ended with US victory.

Just like online gaming, maybe one should mostly focus on having fun, there are many tryhards in video games as well- but at least everyone participates.

This is true, I always remembered that time when Alex Jones went to view his phones windows on camera and exposed that he watches Trans Porn, watching Porn is not the same as rape but it shows that capitalists don't care about social-conservatism when push comes to shove.

It's not transphobic to understand the extent to which the athletic advantages that come with being born male, having gone through a male puberty or having had a larger amount of testosterone than women do are retained after transition (especially in a context where training has been relatively continuous from before and after the transition). If a study contradicts the facts regarding how these things affect the body, there is simply an error in the study's methodology or something skewing the data, this stuff is VERY well established, the way testosterone effects the body has not changed.

By that logic every trans woman athlete must be the current world champion of their respective sport then. Oh except that is not the case, trans women are horribly underrepresented and often perform far worse than cis woman contestants. Because of the strict transition requirements to compete, they also have significantly less testosterone than cis woman athletes

professional sports is the realm of genetic freaks who through lucky genetics and rigorous training get impossibly good at a ball and stick game. I feel like your bio-essentialism is more spiritual than material here, as if there is any sort of sanctity of professional sports that has to be protected

Differences in physiology are more pronounced between individuals than between the average male and female. There's arguably a bigger gap on the extreme ends of the spectrum (like you see in top tier athletes) but that's still something to look for in the data. Medically transitioning trans women are by definition taking anti-PEDs by suppressing androgens. If anything people should be concerned about trans male athletes whose HRT is basically roids.
