most music written by out trans women about these things honestly fails to fully connect with me. they always seem to wrapped up in transness as identity in-group vs transness as a thing you have to experience and navigate the world through. SOPHIS, despite her technical skills, was very guilty of this. I think art made by reppers hits me harder for that reason.
