The reason why i dislike queer and trans media in general, is because it tends to focus too much on marginalization as an essential trait of our identity, almost like living in a constant state of victimhood.

When every piece of media revolves around it, around trauma and struggle it feels like being trans or queer is existing in a state of permanent conflict; nobody wants that, it shouldn't be the core of our idiosyncracy as a collective.

like i said, i don't want to be counter-culture because i'm trans, i want to be counter-culture when i actually act as counter to the culture in place.

I'm not a pick-me transexual i don't want assimilation, i want some sense of normalcy.

I do not claim monopoly on truth, this is only my opinion: 4chan /lgbt/ is very lame and it's a glowie honeypot. It might be okay if you don't take it seriously, or just want some lulz or are curious about the latest hype, but to be quite honest, aside from 4chan being a glowie honeypot it is filled with internet slop and all manner of excess influencing and politicking. Not to mention it is not trans-exclusive and you also have to wade through all the posts by creeps and pedos. 4chan certainly is not waht it used to be LOL, but it is still creeps and pedos.

Basically, what I am trying to say if you are looking for a decent trans community online or a space for liminal identity development, don't do it on 4chan. Do it on a more nerdy, less chaotic responsible community. If you want to surf the waves of chaos, expect fluctuation and chaos. There are a lot of very legitimate support networks yet, for transgender people. I think in the end the Republican persecution will fade away, and people will snap out of the transgender mass hysteria and then mtf persons will be able to live their life more peacefully then.

You are living during a worldwide transgender persecution. Transgender persecutions have existed in the past, but the world has never been as networked as it is today, so it is worldwide and my uneducated guess would be the culprits are the capitalist class who believe "transgenderism" is counter-intuitive to their interests. Take a lesson from transgender people throughout history. They were usually separated from most of society, often in their own transgender communities and employed secrecy. The obvious reason for this would be survival. Secrecy is something I feel every mtf transperson should be acquainted with, not in an evil or manipulative way, but in a positive and intelligent and socially conscious way.

Keep in mind that, not only transgender people but also the entirety of humanity are living through a troubled time now, and as we see in the news we have these freaks and nutjobs talking about the present time being 'Armageddon'.

I write all this not only for OP but for all mtf transpersons.

A while ago this very influential book called whipping girl came out, it describes this theory of trans misogyny, aka the intersection of misogyny and transphobia.

Basically, trans women are treated as not being women in the sense that feminism does not apply to them, but treated as women in the sense of objectification and strict social roles.

This this excludes transwoman from lgbt culture - rocky horror, butch/femme, ect. - creating distinct cultures and experiences among those affected (tma) and those excluded (tme).

This theory is not with out flaws, nor am I explaining it the best (it was mostly popularized among tumblr, which has faced massive ban waves targeting specific transwoman) but I think it explains OP’s question.

mine's a funny story, i realized sex mods felt wrong playing as a man and i never used them; so i switched to a girl character who i named "lilith"

which felt better but i wanted a better connection, so i tricked my parents into telling me what name i've would've had had i been born a cis girl.

and so i started going as Sabina everywhere in every game.

after that Skyrim started tweaking with so many mods that my 2GB of ram laptop couldn't keep up with the scripts and it started lagging like crazy so i uninstalled the whole game altogether.

Same issue with Fallout 3, i didn't knew New Vegas existed so instead i played the classic Fallouts…

i can say for sure that Fallout 2 is the best Fallout btw
