I usually have this board hidden but I got a topic for y'all. What do you think about the "Brown and Black" stripes on the "Pride" flag?
Brown and Black, Brown and Black, Brown and Black.
Politically I am all for unity among marginalised people, it looks like shit though, clashes with the colour scheme.
Even the yellow part with the circle is too much, makes the flag way too busy. Rainbow with trans triangle is the peak design, but nobody uses that.

Symbolically, the black is fine, because it's not for race but for AIDS victims, the brown is lowkey stupid because not all marginalized ethnicities are brown. Aesthetically, the whole chevron shouldn't be on the flag.

the original pride flag is a rainbow SPECIFICALLY because gays come in all races. so it's redundant to add two clashing colors to it.
Also, we don't need to devote 1/3 of the flag to intersex people.

The rainbow is all the colors of the light spectrum, it's supposed to represent everyone. By adding onto it with certain groups you just Other them further. Frames it as though they are intruding onto the LGBT movement rather than being already part of it.
Maybe if they had come up with a totally different flag design that incorporated the same ideas it could have worked, but just slapping it onto the existing Pride Flag was really bad.

I think the progress pride flag is a bit busy aesthetically (and I mean the original one, the OP one is some progress pride flag 2 even more progress) but I think it has some utility because there are some effectively anti-trans hate groups that like to mask as pro LGB activists, and so if I see the progress pride flag around a person or space I can generally assume people are true allies.
