Hello LGBT frens
We hear a lot from rightoids about the whole 'chickens for KFC' when it comes to LGBTQ+ people and Islam.
So, no judgement here, just your opinion of Islam and Muslims.
>>7524Wasn't Trump actually a natcon trying to ban sex ed from schools and topics related to the LGBT+ community because of "muh trad values"?
>>7522The welfare state tends to reduce religiosity.
>>7522Islam is only as reactionary as it is because of western imperialism.
Saudi Arabia is a product of the west and it's the one exporting Wahhabism. Iran used to be a secular democracy but because their leader wanted to nationalize the oil the US/Britain overthrew him. Saddam and Assad may have been dictators but they were at least secular, and the west took them out.
So any discussion of Islam has to start with that first.
>>7547Oh yeah I forgot to mention Hamas which was directly supported by Israel in order to prevent less radical/more secular movements from taking root in Gaza.
So if you see anyone bringing up muh LGBT rights when it comes to Israel you should spit on them.
Islam just like all religions will fade away naturally as socialism grows, its traditions and culture will stay but its religion will fade. But in the meantime I have no problem with Islam as long as it is separated from government.
>>7522I don't have any problem and in fact like a lot about Islam unironically. I have similar opinions to this anon >>7547; the fudamentalism that a lot of people heavily associate with Islam is a pretty recent historical development and I doubt it lasts forever. I wouldn't be muslim personally because I'm not religious (and the LGBT problem). I guess it's just a fascination that comes along with my MENAboo autism.
>>7522Multipolarity itself is pro-trans and they're only so anti-queer due to material conditions;
Islam is not the threat, the west is.
>'chickens for KFC' when it comes to LGBTQ+ people and Islam
"goyim for Israel" - Netenyahu 🤡
>no judgement here,
history vindication:
Thesis: the first imperialist state, the Neo-Assyrians
Antithesis: Judeo-Christianity
Synthesis: Islam
I despise all religions and want to fucking rip those fucking priests and imams to shreds but I can control my emotions so outwardly I seem like a tolerant atheist.
i used to follow a muslim trans girl named Melliedoll or Melanieish i wonder what happened to her?
I hate religion in general because it's retarded, but Islam is definitely the worst of them currently. I'm not a warmongering neocon, but I can't understand the liberals that act like I need to accept Muslim identity/beliefs. This is the shit that leads to pedophile trumpers winning. Anybody that says they're a Muslim is instantly ignored by me. Christians are at least normally just idiots that want to pretend to believe in something culturally. Muslims are usually deranged.
>>7680
You got me there. Judaism has a racial component which is worse I suppose. I hate Judaism and Islam about equally, but all these supremacist religions are dumb in the end. The context of the thread leads me to diss on Islam more.
>>7538I find it hard to believe that Trump is sincere about this stuff. He's a hollywood actor who lived in manhattan, he must have met 100s of gays by now
>>7686
>Jesus
>Positive role model
Sure, a 30 year old man wandering the desert with 11 teenagers (Only Peter was an adult) telling people to abandon their families cause the kingdom of heaven was "nigh"
Probably the first in a long line of predatory youth pastors tbh, if he even existed at all and wasn't just an amalgam of various messianic jews and myths
Many people don't know this but the Iranian government is Homophobic but Pro-trans, they sometimes forcefully transition gay men who are caught being gay
>>7683So you're saying that Rightists and Islamists are the same?
>>7679The problem with pinkwashing theory is that it assumes that imperial powers misuse and abuse queerness as an excuse, it lets queerness of the hook. Given that queer identity arose in the West, shouldn't we also ask how the dominant ideas of what it means to be queer are tied up with imperialism and bourgeois? Why for example does the erasures of Native American cultures, with their own complex sexual practices, never feature in historical discussions around Western sexuality? Why don't we ever talk about social class and class privileges either? Queers suffer from an amazing lack of self-awareness, where everything that is queer is good and can never be challenged or meaningfully criticized. And of course anyone who asks these questions can be conveniently dismissed as a chud.
A read of this thread suggests something interesting. There's a sense that 1. Religion is anti-queer 2. That Muslims are only reactionary because of Saudis. In other words, Muslims are judged by the extent to which they approximate a Western queer value system, their capacity to prove they are civilized. In the article another anon linked there was a question directed to a Palestinian scholar about grindr use in Hebron, and he pushes back by saying "well let's talk about the occupation first." But why should Palestinians be judged by the ability to use some hook up app?
All the muslims I’ve ever met have been nice to me, they’re fine with gays as long as it isn’t their kids, which is bad but not as bad as it could be
>>7914In essence lgbt imperialism discourse is the same as the anti-woke worker discourse. Regressive social views being widespread among these groups doesn't legitimize them, yet neither is wokescolding a particularly effective political tactic.
>Why for example does the erasures of Native American cultures, with their own complex sexual practices, never feature in historical discussions around Western sexuality? Most of those were patriarchal adaptions (like pederastic "boywives") or marginal religious roles. The people looking for historical incarnations of themselves are missing the point though. There is no pre-modern, historical precedent for lgbtiaq+ as it exists in contemporary society and by design it can barely exist outside of it. Queer identity is accelerationist either way.
Islam?
Any religion (or ideology) that causes mass hysteria and the murder of people for merely showing a drawing without judgement does not deserve to exist. This is on top of
>>7524Muslims?
Plenty of nice people. Hope you get over your mania :)
>>7916I figure that false equivalences like this are wheeled out to deflect criticism. While anti-woke soldiers do exist, not every critique of LGBT positions is equal to Sam Walsh level reaction.
There's an irony that Western queers are anti-normative, but when it comes to foreign sexual cultures they don't understand they are obsessed with asserting their moral superiority and imposing their own normativity onto them. LGBT is held up as a sort of end stage of queer history, the final model the whole world must evolve towards. Anything that doesn't align with it is branded reactionary or patriarchal or marginal. Why should they be dismissed as reactionary or regressive? This issue requires nuance because the critical context is omitted: the conquest of Islamic peoples by imperialism.
>The people looking for historical incarnations of themselves are missing the point though.I'm really not interested in that, which is a problem by itself. What bugs me is why do historians of sexuality in the West (e.g. Foucualt) omit colonialism? LGBT identity was invented in the West, but how this construction was shaped by the project to heterosexualize Native Americans or colonize Algeria is simply never asked. All we get are "the British spread anti-gay laws" but no real concern for how gay culture was shaped by the reality of conquest e.g. the Arab Islamic East was often portrayed as a place of barbaric sexual perversion, as a safe haven for homosexuals, as a sex tourism destination for gay men in the 70s, as a place that needed to modernize through heterosexualization.
>>7920>LGBT identity was invented in the West, but how this construction was shaped by the project to heterosexualize Native Americans or colonize Algeria is simply never asked.Patriarchy has been the dominant mode of social reproduction in every sedentary society, most of the surviving tribal communities even, ever since it ostensibly spread during the neolithic in the form of sun worship. The fact colonialism forced western gender relations on non-western nations, and similar to christianity specifically utilized them to control and assimilate the local populace, today represents more a historical quirk than any real difference in sex relations.
Lgbt is the product of both lessened material pressure and sharpened cultural contradictions. A return towards "sane" sex roles or sex without gender is no longer possible, therefore anti-lgbt sentiment is a form of superstition. Materially it is entirely unsubstantiated and should only be endorsed tactically. Similarly, instead of advocating for a wholesale restoration of pre-colonial religion, any principled communist should seek to promote atheism instead.
idk but I secretly have a desire that a habibi will feminize me and make his wife. i'll wear a burqa and be submissive and obedient
>>7960
It must be hard to be gay over there
I wonder if they underground speakeasies/teahouses and stuff like back in the day in western countries to meet up
I would be afraid of using an app and matching with a homophobe who just wanted to beat me up
I live in Burgerland where almost everyone has mutiliated their dick (⋟﹏⋞)
