I feel like being Pedophilia is becoming a buzzword for far-right people to label LGBTQ+ supporters while the Rightists can't even argue as to why they are pedos in the first place.
It's always been the right-wing buzzword for labelling LGBTQ+ people. I don't know how is it in the US, but the rightists in Eastern Europe have been labelling LGBTQ+ people as pedos since… at least early 90s. If I had to guess, it's formed as a form of knee-jerk reaction to the claims that there's an overrepresentation of pedos in the clergy of the Catholic Church.
