Why do "left-wing" influencers and politicians absolutely REFUSE to do even the slightest bit of research into trans people? Especially the ones who regularly debate rightoids, who are guaranteed to bring it up every single conversation without exception, you'd think they would want to be prepared for that, but they never are. They just concede to their nonsense and then go on to parrot fascist narratives about trans people as if they're fact. Especially frustrating when it's the type of essay or debate Youtuber who normally does tons of research into whatever they're discussing, but completely drops the ball when it comes to trans people.
Why? Why are they allergic to researching this topic? Why do they trust the word of perpetual liars and bigots on this one specific topic? It's so utterly baffling. Are they being paid to delegitimize the trans movement? I'd expect this kind of thing from liberals, but are 99% of "leftists" really so devoid of morals that they'd participate in such corruption? I can't think of any other explanatoon that explains how widespread this is.

Obviously not, he's a far-right nutjob who ran as a Democrat because he lives in California. When I mentioned politicians I was mostly thinking of my own country, which isn't the USA. Still, I often hear talk of new blood Democrats being hyped up as "progressive" while seeming to behave the way I described, with Mamdani being a notable exception.

I would say people like Destiny and Soypill consider themselves leftists, though the former is arguably a liberal. And then you have mainstream personalities like John Oliver who do seem to actually do the research, only to interpret it in the most bad faith manner possible, then say things like "it's perfectly reasonable to continue treating transgenders as second class citizens until the evidence is compelling enough to convince fascists otherwise".
