>>8721I also preferred Bokura no Hentai, but Hourou Musuko was pretty good for the most part, we used to have weekly storytime threads for it on /a/ way back when it was still going.
Hopefully I'm not being too spoiler-y but it starts out strong then starts going downhill about 3/4 of the way through, where one of the protagonists' plotlines is more or less concluded in a way that feels kind of sudden and not terribly satisfying given the story leading up to it, while the other protagonist kind of gets sidelined to focus more on the supporting cast and wrap up their plotlines, and the parts that DO focus on that protagonist end in a way that's vaguely positive but not really conclusive enough to feel satisfying. I'd still recommend it if you're looking for a manga about trans characters, but I feel like it lacked something as emotionally impactful as Marika's coming-out scene in BnH.
Oh, and it also got an anime but it starts off in the middle of the story and had kind of odd pacing imo so I'd recommend going with the manga if you do decide to check it out
