Things like having nerdy interests (possibly due to isolation from normal society), being knowledgable about non-superstructural political subjects like architecture and logistics (possibly because they feel no fun in discussing culture war shit due to being on the chopping block) or being fasionably dressed (possibly due to giving up on fitting in because merely being in an especially marginalized demographic means simply dressing and acting normal isn't enough), etc…

this is a stupid question, even though culturally we're more homogenized than ever there's still many differences depending on your location, different places have different cultures: where I live if a guy has long hair it's a 75/25 whether he likes men or not, I'd imagine it'd be different in more "progressive" places.
something I can imagine being close to universal are mannerisms (gen x took it too far but there's some truth to it): if a man has traditionally feminine mannerisms he either doesn't mind being perceived as queer (which is already crazy rare where I live) or he actually is, a good tell is smoking: smoking (cigarettes) in a manly pose is most of the time (pretty much always except when sitting at a table) quite unnatural, it's a forced gender performance which is why older men drop it at a certain age and start smoking fags like fags when they realize it doesn't actually matter. another good indicator is fashion but the few queers around me dress like shit so I would take it with a grain of salt.
