/leftypol/ growth hacking and non-technical/organizational development.

Questions:

- How (or if) to grow the /leftypol/ userbase? (webrings, paid ads, social media outreach)
- Supporting the site through incorporation
- Donations and/or selling fumos/tshirts/audiobooks?

I think you need to accept mostly no one is going to go straight from other social media to leftypol. 99% of people are going to come here through another imageboard. So I guess just target whatever imageboard.

Don't think we can really manage to post "leftypol" anymore than /pol/ already does. Just counted and it's already up to 11 times today. Probably don't want to recruit from /pol/ anyways.

>>35393
Like you're looking for the narrow sliver on the venn-diagram of people who are leftist, but also don't want stricter moderation policies like you'd expect on reddit where people aren't saying faggot, jewish nigger, zigger, whatever all the time. Also the porn or erotica present everywhere. Chan memes images. I just can't imagine too many people who this website will be their introduction to "chan culture" that are going to become avid posters.

>>35394
>>35393
n!—r is/was wordfiltered.

>>35395
It doesn't change the fact that people are going to be typing uyghur all the time. Zigger is still quite readily recognized as uyghur. Faggot all the time. KILL YOURSELF. Bro do I really need to lay out every single way "chan culture" is going to be offputting for most left leaning people who haven't come here from an imageboard?

>>35396
sure. but thats the whole brand appeal of /leftypol/ its the left wing space thats NOT suffocated by over-political correctness

>>35397
>sure. but thats the whole brand appeal of /leftypol/ its the left wing space thats NOT suffocated by over-political correctness
And I'm telling you those things won't read like that to people who aren't from chans.

>Oh my god finally a space where I can tell jewish nigger faggots to kill themselves for not reading Marx!

I'm telling you I'm surely all of the people who appreciate that kind of thing are already on 4chan.

>>35398
back when leftypol made more memes (pre-2018 8chan era), a ton of leftypol traffic came from affiliate youtube channels

>>35399
I just came back to say that youtube and tiktok is the only place I think the only untapped spaces lefty. Already have the leftypol twitter account.

I don't think ads will be effective but if you are going to pay for ads I would just target 4chan and whatever imageboard.

Merchandise is also pointless except if you need to raise some funds for the server or something.

>>35400
And maybe if some non-english posters are aware of any other sites maybe to promote on. That Chinese anon said he came here from seeing an Alunya on Chinese social media. But of all the English websites I can't think of any. Uhh spamming comments sections?

>>35400
>>35401
so you don't think google click ads or something will do anything?

>>35403
Highly doubt but I can't say I've ever used them. I've done some cursory research on google/reddit/youtube ads before but not much. People are very divided whether they're worth the price or a total waste of time I know from a little cursory research on developing an indie game, but I didn't make it yet so it's only been mostly cursory.

Like I said I think shilling for free is the way to go. You can post damn links in comment sections and threads for free. You know exactly where your ad is going. If you go with google/reddit, you just have to take their word for it they're showing your ad to the right people and that the clicks you're paying for aren't botted.

>>35404
Oh yeah, and if you go with google ads, then only people you can get clicks from are tech illiterate retards that don't have adblock installed. LMAO exactly leftypol's target demographic.

>>35405
Pay Papa Wolff or some other content creator to shout out the website again if you MUST pay for ads.

Ok right off the back. Fix this the sentence that shows in the search results. That's terrible copy. It's not even actually informative

>Leftypol is an imageboard where users can post anonymously

Aren't all of them anonymous? If you must say anonymous:
<Leftypol is an anonymous imageboard
Boom. Look how much shorter.
>We engage in both serious political discourse and informal discussion on various topics related to leftist thought.
Not informative and actually inaccurate because offtopic non leftist related posting is allowed and even encouraged on the majority of the boards. Informal discussion is meaningless because every discussion here is informal whether serious or not.

Look how much infinitely better lolcow.moe's is:
>Anonymously share juicy gossip and candid opinions about foolish and bizarre people, also known as lolcows. Freedom of speech friendly

>>35406
there have been attempts to reach out to left wing content creators before but they seem to think its either too edgy or ""weeb shit""

>>35410
>there have been attempts to reach out to left wing content creators before but they seem to think its either too edgy or ""weeb shit""
LMAO exactly. The default reaction you're going to get from like 99% of leftists who didn't come from 4chan.

>>35410
And, well, it is.
/leftypol/ is a /pol/ fork. There's no avoiding that, it's inherent. If you want something 'creator-friendly', you just have to start something from scratch like discomade did, because even the dirtbag left aren't going to promote a site full of people just saying 'kys pseud' and 'i want to fuck alunya'.
Know your audience, and find them. If an audience even exists. To reiterate what someone else said, this site was born out of a cultural context which hasn't existed for five years.

>>35393
I found bout it through a Nazbol Xitter GC lel, I mean it's pretty clear only Nazbols and methheads would hang out in here, and even then they'd prefer 4Chan most likely due to whatever succdems, civnats and judeobols hanging out in here. Honestly it would've been a much better idea to make this a Nazbol-only thingy

Just keep attracting an audience of brainless worms who need to pick some 'cool' side they can then obsess over and incorporate into their personality by turning communism into an online book(cover)posting hobby and carving out a niche meme corner where mods can show off their retardedly ostentatious pseudo-intellectualism to their twitter followers for internet clout.

>>35565
Cool, exactly what I was talking about.

Anyways /leftypol/ was doomed from the start, it's the umpteenth proof anything the left does is a carbon copy of the right, it's not just taking inspiration it's a legit carbon copy. Anons have been posting anonymously the point is to change it blah blah blah is fucking terrible n lengthy, it doesn't stand for anything, just brand yourself as lefty 4chan, cuz that's what it is — calling the ENTIRE thing /leftypol/ just shows you're trying to capitalize on /pol/ specifically, but what are ya offering me? Some banners themselves are just 4Chan comments, you suckle off of le 4chins' tits.

Why not just reunite games, anime, music and draw into /arts/? Barely any people even use this site unlike with le 4chins, and even le 4chins has various inactive sections, you'd think they'd be modest.

The official Twitter account is just some Jewish nigger reposting yaoi and whatever, I don't think I need to explain to you why people won't be attracted by it, barely anybody likes or replies to it, maybe just don't retweet a thousand things per day.

Part of what made 4Chan famous was its bouts of extremism, leftypol hasn't any because it's just some Nazbols like me who don't even really like it and would rather spend time on le 4chins or Xitter groupchats, nerdistani Men Loving Men and liberals who think saying Nygher is funny, it's just not a good combo of people, and you can't have a platform built specifically on communist debate (it's a specifically Marxist site anyways), because these people will never agree on anything, and whilst 4Channers mock each other in good sport during debates this sub is just endless paragraphs which lead nowhere. I type long paragraphs but I try to make em worthwhile, but really only when I feel like I need to drive a point well across and fix numerous common misconceptions, or when critiquing leftypol, most lengthy paragraphs in here aren't really that interesting and it's about rehearsing, nobody's gonna read a thread with so many likewise comments, it's the epitome of everything wrong with leftoids.

If this were Nazbol-only it could work as lefty 4Chan, but it's not, and the flags tell you that: it's flags almost all of which nobody would ever use of stupid movements beyond Europe which people in here haven't even studied because WHO NEEDS THEORY, oh and generic stuff like Syndicalism which, lel, be real — and if people here read theory it's pointless drivel over a specific obvious line everybody misunderstands (state withering away for example, Lenin himself talked about this wrongfully anarchuck view), there's one single Nazbol flag, there's the Nazi flag but not the Fascist flag, and honestly who even bothers to put on a flag for 10 boards 8 of which nobody uses and one of which is fucking SIBERIA. SIBERIA I TELL YOU. GOD.

TLDR for Bordigshits who've fried their eyes reading day n night: it's strictly Marxist, it's lengthy, most boards are inactive and should be lumped together, it capitalizes on 4Chan harder than the US on arab oil, the Xitter account is Jewish niggery which retweets retardedness nobody wants to see, a lefty 4Chan could only work on a Nazbol basis but it's not Nazbol and le 4Chins did better on Nazbol than leftypol ever has, White Juche suits le 4Chins better than leftypol does and that's a huge fucking loss, the only boards where you can expect a reply soon enough are vent and the main eponymous section because nobody's gonna join it and people who use it will grow out of it.

You wanna know how to make it grow? Lump boards together to make it seem more lively, make it a primarily Nazbol imageboard and get people to attract 4chinners with it, they'd join in, have a serious Twitter account, dump the useless mottos and make it short n sweet to the point, dump le 4chins comments as banners, grow your own injokes outside of the wordfilter or whatever.

>>35567
Do exactly the opposite of what this unfunny memelord says if you don't want leftypol to be filled with band kid pseuds, btw.

>>35566
People already see it as some niche cornerstone, I've never heard of leftypol till this one guy mentioned it to me, all the Nazbols I know repost 4Chan Greentexts and use its slang, the problem is how BADLY niche it is, because people either grow out of their Nazbol phase, or just go onto 4Chan cuz there's more people, or quit it after the site goes down again. Good niche stuff is starmen.net back in the 2008, where people would stay, but per leftypol you need a constant influx to keep up its users, some of these people will eventually stick to it, but you need a fresh load of faithful posters lest it become the 5 oldfags

>>35568
I am correct

>>35570
There's no joke here, just a retard who wants to show off their communist vibes by dropping recognizable names.

>>35571
I am correct

>>35567
the general theme of the message is trash but i agree with oen thing, there are too many boards and most of them are completely useless. we should just make one big "hobby" board where we talk about media and activities etc. i cant be fucking bothered to check every board to see if anyone has posted anything on there just to realise it's just as dead as the day before

would having an AMA with a well known eceleb on here help grow the site?

>>35640
Who? What's his face that looks like a Command and Conquer Red Alert cosplayer posts here occasionally.

>>35641
Unruhe. Yeah that could habben but only if he announces it on his channel etc.
