Well its really quite simple. Leftypol grew initially from direct opposition to /pol/ back on 8chan in the day. We did things that mattered somewhat; we funded things, we effectively did started a lot of popular leftist memes that went and broke containment. I can show people a porky and they might know what it is.

Right now, leftypol has no united front to work towards at the moment, even a minuscule thing, like back in the day when people still tried, however in vain, to organize things towards a collective purpose that we, with what small power a voice can have on an image board, can have to actually do something that affects the world outside.

People who want to user imageboards want to be edgy, mods want to ban people for edgy jokes (but allow it when the people of their ingroup make them.) Majority of the online left in mainstream websites like Twitter, Reddit, and Facebook think you should be arrested for saying "retard". Communists will kick you out of their party/org/study group for doing so.

What this all mean is that the audience for this kind of website is small, and the mods actively work to shrink it by naval gazing at the users.
