a Nazi teenager enjoying the best quality of life in the western hemisphere recording an album with a playmobile cassette deck or whatever, about how miserable existence is

its always like this, i blame protestant work ethics to be honest, it is the reason why catholics in some flooded town in basque spain that's 90% old people or some guy in a shanty town in brazil or colombia sings about how life is fucking awsome and beautiful while a guy in germany or sweden or norway starts a metal band singing about toasting to death and dying in combat because his modern life in colorful comfy snowy oslo is extremely melancholic and shit and depressing (norway just discovered a new gas field and increased GDP and other statistics by 2055% during the making of this song)

Meds

>>16221
yeah i spoke about meds what's your point?

>>16222
anon you seem informative in metal is there MENA or african metal bands?

Turning misery into an aesthetic is another example of bourgeois decadence. It doesn‘t even seek to fix the issue, it just wallows in self-indulgent self-pity.

It’s more that suffering is always viewed as virtuous.
Happiness and leisure are seen as “degenerate”.
Ever noticed how whenever boomers talk about “moral decline” they always point to toys or whatever recreational outlet.

Yet, the biggest irony is, whenever people do encounter those whom are suffering in real time, they feel pity but also annoyance at them.

More like a nazi adult

Yes there are. I am not as knowledgeable about the scenes in those regions, but I know a few.
These guys are Overthrust, from Botswana, one of the bands with the most international attention.

Metallum is one of the more complete resources. Pretty much every country with a significant population has bands. Iran and Turkiye have I think pretty healthy scenes, for example. Keep in mind that Metallum is run by very picky people about what sounds are metal, so the number of bands could be higher. I think North Korea is basically the only large population that has no bands with any recordings. Even Gaza has a single black metal project.

I picked out both the Sarcofago and Parabellum releases because not only do they pre-date the Norwegian scene but because they actually influenced it, via Euronymous.

>The Angelic Process was an American metal band from Athens, Georgia. Formed in 1999, the band was a husband and wife duo of Kris Angylus (vocals, guitar, drums) and Monica Dragynfly (bass, backing vocals). They released three albums and were seen as figureheads of the ambient drone metal subgenre.[1]
>The band's first album …And Your Blood Is Full of Honey was released in 2001 when Angylus was 22 years old. It was followed up by Coma Waering in 2003, which was recorded in 2002 and self-released until being re-issued in 2006. It tells the story of a man who falls into a coma and dies.[8] The album was inspired by the death of Angylus' first girlfriend in a 2000 car crash.[6] Angylus's wife Monica Dragynfly joined the band in 2005, and The Angelic Process played their first live concerts in January 2006.[9]
>On May 15, 2007, The Angelic Process' third and final album Weighing Souls with Sand was released. The concept album continues the storyline of Coma Waering, focusing on the woman struggling to live after her husband's death as she eventually kills herself as well.[10]
>Angylus died on April 26, 2008, from suicide at age 29.[3] In a statement posted on her Myspace, Dragynfly said that Angylus had clinical depression and attempted suicide multiple times before, and that he had also suffered from physical illnesses in the year prior to his death.[11]
>Monica Dragynfly died on her birthday, April 1, 2023, at age 46.[13] The Angelic Process' Facebook page publicized her death on May 30, 2023.[5]

genuinely impossible to take firstoid problems seriously.

Is everyone a poseur here? The lyrics are about Lord of the Rings and other fantasy shit, not weltschmerz.

Idk. Northern lands can be dreary in the winter, especially in the cities.
I cannot imagine how grim it is in Eurasia in November thru March after sunset.

It's valid because existence itself is suffering, even if you're on the top, to think communism or being rich will magically turn your life into blissful contentment is naive utopianism, sure it would improve life but it doesn't resolve existential angst and the problem of evil.

I’m still not ashamed to enjoy Filisofem

I've literally never listened to Burzum in my life, beyond the background music in his old youtube videos. Maybe I should for once, but black metal fans and scene can be pretty cringe
Nonetheless I had chud friends who spammed his youtube every fucking day and so I've been exposed to him for the past decade, and I've just been fascinated by his childishness and contradictory ideology that always morphs depending on his mood or arguments. Probably takes away a lot of the mystique people have of him.

>>16319
I like his proto-dungeon synth album the most, he made it in prison, so it's literally 'dungeon' synth. Daudi baldrs.

Jokes aside, those memes only work if you're an angloid who doesn't know the language and have a very limited exposure to music of it
I don't know how tongue in cheek this song is but I'm gonna post it anyway

>>16224
metal is pretty big in south america I thought this was known
