This band again. I listen to them a lot. They took four-on-the-floor cybergoth music (which is usually really bad) and made it into something which I think is good.

Have been getting more into power electronics lately, used to swear it off as just edgy bullshit but i've opened my mind (and also started liking edgy bullshit in general)

Skinny Puppy doesn't need any introduction but it's crazy this music came out in 1985.

This is one of the better bands doing the Skinny Puppy thing. I really love the soundscapes.

One of my favs

Criminal to have seen a thread go so far w/o any mention of one of my favs.

https://youtu.be/DsNvy-kwtwA?si=3U5fPqMqrn4bqJV0 , I'm impatient and I go to about 13 minutes in where the voice kicks in. not understanding most of her words adds to the appeal, the rhythmic noise is gritty and dirty. not available on apple music.

This ain't faith — this is napalm
This ain't hope — this is blackmail
No holy love — just holy pressure
This ain't worthy — this is futile

This ain't truth — this is distortion
Truth wrapped in lies — sick and contorted
This ain't good — this ain't freedom
This ain't faith — this is religion

This is religion!

Based.
I've been super into power electronics this summer - lots of potential for political messaging.

Front Line Assembly is a funny group. They're one of the most cliche "genre" industrial bands. The most likely to get played in the background to set the mood during a Shadowrun game. Uneven overall but I'm going to go see them next month.

I went and saw FLA, Clock DVA, Mentallo & the Fixer, and Lead Into Gold. It was all quite good.

I love Lady Gaga because she's this mega-huge pop star who's actually an industrial fan.

Been listening to this on repeat (pretty much)

New "literal" industrial in the vein of Test Dept, Einstürzende Neubauten with use of real scrap metals and power tools.

about politically motivated mass killings in Indonesia and Cambodia, picrel is physical tape (spoilered for cambodian genocide victim photos)

>Conceived as an elegy for the millions of forgotten victims of the 20th-century genocides <…> “The Look Of Silence” is a four-track journey into the void left in the eyes of the survivors, a dirge to accompany the steady gaze into their never-ending abyss.

another kampuchea classic, 2019:
https://tescogermany.bandcamp.com/album/subhuman-principle
>Maybe the purest industrial power electronics release of Japan´s Linekraft –
>Back in 1975,Democratic Kampuchea proved that conducting politics meant killing the people.
>Controlling the people is to kill their bodies and spirits.
>Democratic Kampuchea, this armed organization consisted of some idealists and many who did not understand what “revolutionay” was and existed between 1975 and 1979.
>Human beings are animals. They can’t form a perfect social group.
>Music presented here is a soundtrack for “subhumans” who starts to act by oneself.

picrel is 2024 CD release, spoilered for genocide victims photos
