A Detroit priest overseeing a tour of religious relics was arrested for putting a girl's hair in his mouth and pretending to floss with it in front of her fellow students, authorities said.
Father Carlos Martins, 50, who is known for his exorcism work and for hosting The Exorcist Files podcast, was charged with misdemeanor battery for the November 21, 2024 incident at a church in Joliet, Illinois.
At the time, a teenage girl was in line to view a relic of St. Jude the Apostle, part of a traveling exhibit led by Martins.
Police said that Martins approached the girl, commented on her hair, and then grabbed it before making a 'flossing' motion with it in his mouth.
The girl also told police that Martins later sat behind her and made a growling noise.

Pastor arrested in Vegas hotel room with drugs and guns
An evangelical pastor was busted in a Las Vegas hotel room with drugs and guns, including an AR-15 with a scope — leading counter-terrorism cops to fear he planned a mass shooting similar to the deadliest in US history, according to alarming court documents.
David McGee, 61, the senior pastor at the now-closed Bridge Fellowship in North Carolina, initially called the police himself to report something missing from his room at the Strat Hotel Casino & Tower, according to documents obtained by KLAS.
When police arrived, they asked if he had any weapons in the room — to which McGee replied, “Yes, I have a gun in my guitar case,” according to the report. The pastor was also allegedly found with fentanyl pills and powder in his room, the document shows.
Counter-terrorism officers then found several firearms in his room, including an AR-15 with a scope
“McGee advised [the detective] that he brought the fentanyl from North Carolina on his private jet to Las Vegas and paid approximately $1,000” for it, the documents said.

Pastor charged with sexually assaulting a teen in New JerseyThe 16-year-old victim told police Brinson put a bottle with a clear, unknown substance inside up to the victim's nose, which caused the victim to pass out prior to the alleged assaults.
The victim was examined at the hospital after the second reported incident.
Brinson - who uses the title bishop at his church - has faced similar charges before.
In 2008, he was arrested and charged with felony contact with a minor, wanted for allegedly sexually assaulting a 15-year-old from Philadelphia.
He pleaded guilty to one count of corruption of a minor and served four years probation.

The individual is totally surveilled at all times by technological systems beyond their ability to comprehend. The states ability to surveil is not to prevent criminality but to prevent any attempts on the total power of the corporations. Corporations operate generally as their own state entities, if there are states they exist only to run the police and military. Corporations run to progress toward specific goals of their owners or ownership class. Space flight, geo-engineering, genetic engineering etc. Progress is defined by oligarchic human ego driven concerns. The ecology exists to be plundered and those without means are cattle who fight out in the hunger games of the ever-expanding undercity
Solarpunk is defined use of technology to help human beings in general achieve self-actualisation. Where technology in cyberpunk would be used to achieve the aims of a small oligarchy resulting in scientific advancement being directed toward surveillance, war and the egoistic whims of oligarchs, solarpunk tech is geared toward eliminating drudgerous labour to free us to achieve our higher human aspirations.
This means, smaller cities attached to eachother by cheap rapid transit. Automated agriculture where possible and localised permaculture everywhere else. The ecology exists as part of us and is supported to achieve an economy where abundance is shared wherein cyberpunk and burgerpunk abundance is consciously fought against.
Burgerpunk is not the high tech surveillance state of cyberpunk and is antagonistic to anything smelling of a solarpunk future.
Burgerpunks relationship to technology is that technology is good only when it fights against abundance for the benefit of scarcity.
Burgerpunk at core can be defined as:
Having the material means to produce utopia but choosing not to out of a belief man should be punished for their fallen nature.
Burgerpunk will be seen in the absolute degradation of humanity juxtaposed against marketting of excessive wealth.
It will be people celebrating the poor being miserable as a moral virtue. Not just that they are but that they should be MADE miserable.
Burgerpunk will have consumerism juxtaposed with emiseration. The misery will be police state violence, drug use, poverty, poor quality food and drink.
Burgerpunk is watching the self-hatred that comes from the protestant ethic be juxtaposed with the need of capitalism to make us vapid consumers.

https://archive.ph/DRZW1>A once-powerful former North Dakota lawmaker was sentenced Wednesday to 10 years in prison for traveling to Europe with the intent to pay for sex with a minor.>Former state senator Ray Holmberg’s attorney, Mark Friese, confirmed the sentence to The Associated Press but declined to comment after the hearing, which KFGO radio reported included seven hours of testimony, victim statements and an apology from the shackled 81-year-old.>Holmberg pleaded guilty last year in U.S. District Court in Fargo, North Dakota, to one count of traveling with intent to engage in illicit sexual activity.>KFGO reported that during Wednesday’s hearing, the defense and prosecution agreed that Holmberg should serve about three years because of his age and poor health, but federal Judge Daniel Hovland said Holmberg is still a threat to underage boys. Hovland called Holmberg’s character “egregious and despicable” and said that a 37-month sentence wouldn’t deter others.>While Holmberg denied actually having sex with anyone under 18, Hovland said he can “read between the lines,” the radio station reported.>Prosecutors said Holmberg traveled at least 14 times from 2011 to 2021 to Prague, Czech Republic, to pay for sex with adolescent-age boys. In court last year, Holmberg admitted to paying young male masseuses, some of whom he had sexual contact with at an alleged brothel. But he claimed not to know for certain how old they were.>Acting U.S. Attorney Jennifer Klemetsrud Puhl said the crime was “an assault of the dignity of many young boys.” And the majority and minority leaders in the North Dakota Legislature described Holmberg’s crimes as “evil” in a statement that vowed additional resources to law enforcement to help combat increases in criminal sexual assaults and human trafficking, KFGO reported.>Holmberg served 45 years in the North Dakota Senate. He resigned in 2022 after The Forum of Fargo-Moorhead reported on his many text messages with a man in jail in connection with child sexual abuse material. Holmberg chaired two powerful legislative panels, including the Senate’s budget-writing committee.>Records previously obtained by The Associated Press show that Holmberg made dozens of trips throughout the U.S. and to other countries since 1999. Destinations included cities in more than 30 states as well as Canada, Puerto Rico and Norway. At least one of Holmberg’s trips to Prague was state-funded through a teacher exchange program, the Klemetsrud Puhl wrote in court filings last week.>“Holmberg’s offending conduct over the course of decades … can only be described as corruption,” she wrote. “That is, he used his position to serve his own ends.”>In one example the prosecutor described, Holmberg brought a University of North Dakota student to the university president’s suite for hockey games, representing “a right to access some of the most influential people in the state” — including the UND president, governor and congressmembers — with the expectation of him engaging in sexual activity with Holmberg, she wrote.>In 2012 and 2013, Holmberg posed as a teenage boy in an online chatroom for teens who had undergone circumcision, and misled and manipulated a 16-year-old Canadian boy into sending him explicit photos, the filing said.>The full story of the relationship is unclear because the boy later took his own life in 2021, “but no doubt Holmberg’s conduct contributed to his struggles,” Klemetsrud Puhl said.>Former U.S. Attorney Tim Purdon said the acts described in the prosecutor’s filing paints a picture for the judge of Holmberg’s overall character.>“What we see here is a defendant who has a decades-long track record of identifying extremely vulnerable young men, grooming them and eventually using them for sex,” Purdon said.>>641943so, i'm a retard, right?

Pastor at former President Jimmy Carter’s church arrested on child sexting charges
>A pastor who served at the same Georgia church attended by former President Jimmy Carter has been arrested and accused of involvement in a child exploitation ring in Florida.
>Jeffery Summers, 52, a father of four, allegedly attempted to meet with a 14-year-old boy to engage in unlawful sexual activity on March 7, police say.
>Officers managed to track down Summers and others involved in the child sextortion ring by posing as minors online, reports WALB News.
>“The defendant knowingly used a computer, the internet, or a cell phone to solicit a child whom the defendant believed to be a 14-year-old male with the intent to engage in some form of unlawful sexual activity with that child”, according to the incident report seen by WALB.
>At the time of his arrest, Summers also worked with children at the Horizon Elementary School in Port Orange, Florida.
>Baptist News Global reports that Summers, a graduate of McAfee School of Theology in Atlanta, is married with four children.
>Port Orange police said that officials at Horizon Elementary and the Volusia County School Board “have been made aware and are taking appropriate action.”
>Summers preached at the Maranatha Baptist church in the town of Plains, Georgia, for eight years, from 2005 to 2013, according to Baptist News Global.https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/crime/pastor-former-president-jimmy-carter-church-arrested-b2720449.html >The Papers of Thomas Jefferson Vol1: On the Virtues of Mental Abstraction and the Practice Called "Gooning"
>By Thomas Jefferson
>It is a truth both curious and incontrovertible that the faculties of the human mind, when exercised with diligence and moderation, yield benefits not only to the intellect but to the corporeal frame. Among the many methods by which men have sought to refine their mental exertions, there exists a practice—known colloquially as gooning—which, though oft-misunderstood, may yet claim a place in the annals of intellectual hygiene.
>Let it first be observed that the term itself, being of modern and vulgar origin, lacks the dignity of classical precedent. Yet, if we examine its essence—a state of sustained and pleasurable mental fixation, wherein the mind is wholly absorbed in contemplation—we find parallels in the teachings of the Stoics, who praised the discipline of attention, and in the meditative traditions of the East, where the stilling of restless thought is held in high esteem.
>To those who would dismiss gooning as mere idleness, I reply: Is not the mind, like the soil, most fertile when allowed periods of fallow rest? The farmer who ceaselessly tills his fields without respite soon exhausts both land and limb. So too does the scholar who, denying himself the luxury of deep and unbroken reflection, saps the vigor of his understanding. In this respect, gooning—understood rightly—may serve as a restorative, a deliberate surrender to the currents of thought, unburdened by the immediate demands of utility.
>Physicians of the ancient world, from Galen to Hippocrates, well knew that the health of the body is inseparable from that of the mind. A spirit agitated by perpetual distraction is the progenitor of countless maladies, whereas a mind at ease in its pursuits promotes circulation, digestion, and the general equipoise of the humors. If gooning be the means by which a man achieves such serenity, then let us not scorn it, but rather refine its practice—divorced from excess, and directed toward the enlargement of understanding.
>Yet, as with all things, moderation must govern its employment. The Romans, in their wisdom, cautioned against otium without negotium—leisure without purpose. To while away one’s hours in perpetual reverie is no more virtuous than to grind the mind to dust in ceaseless labor. The ideal, as in all things, lies in balance.
>Thus, let the enlightened man engage in gooning as the Greeks did in their symposia: not as an end in itself, but as a respite that sharpens the faculties for higher endeavors. In this way, what the vulgar may deride as indulgence, the philosopher may reclaim as an instrument of both health and wisdom.

‘God going to deal with it’: Palatka pastor faces child sex abuse charges
>A Palatka pastor was arrested Wednesday following disturbing allegations of an inappropriate relationship with a child. Action News Jax spoke with former members of the pastor’s church, who were shocked by the church leader’s alleged actions.

In the wake of tariffs shaking the auto industry and with the Trump administration pledging to kill the federal EV incentive, that situation isn’t looking to get better soon, especially for anyone wanting something battery-powered. Changing that overly spendy status quo is going to take something radical, and it’s hard to get more radical than what Slate Auto has planned.>Meet the Slate Truck, a sub-$20,000 (after federal incentives) electric vehicle that enters production next year. It only seats two yet has a bed big enough to hold a sheet of plywood. It only does 150 miles on a charge, only comes in gray, and the only way to listen to music while driving is if you bring along your phone and a Bluetooth speaker. It is the bare minimum of what a modern car can be, and yet it’s taken three years of development to get to this point.>But this is more than bargain-basement motoring. Slate is presenting its truck as minimalist design with DIY purpose, an attempt to not just go cheap but to create a new category of vehicle with a huge focus on personalization. That design also enables a low-cost approach to manufacturing that has caught the eye of major investors, reportedly including Jeff Bezos. It’s been engineered and will be manufactured in America, but is this extreme simplification too much for American consumers?>>657188Canadians are basically Amerilards(not in the Trump way) and some of the worst rightoid brainlet bots have been from Canada
