Well for one: a fursona is just "here's an animal I feel makes a good talksprite for me currently." For a while I had a bee in a floral dress. That was pretty generic conceptually but I was really hyperfixated on bees for a while so it fit.
This idea that every original creation needs to be absolutely historically unprecedented feels like it stems from copyright culture. Like I don't think people cared about that until the prospect of art-as-a-commodity came up, and you're not going to sell a fursona.
For two: If someone has a yinglet fursona there's like a 99% chance they're a therian, and I remember Gyro from cohost so they're just a yinglet therian.

Personally the appeal of anthropomorphism to me is the way the character embodies the qualities of the anthrofied thing, so if a character is just a weird-looking creature with no reference to anything (which I think Charlie and Pym are) content with them wouldn't really interest me
